The Cambridge Cantabs and North Andover Thunder both had scoring chances on Sunday, but it was the Cantabs that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 7-3 win at BB&N. Jason LaPointe racked up two RBIs on two hits for Cantabs. He singled in the third and fifth innings. On the mound, the Thunder managed just 1 hit off of Joe Perna in the final 4 innings. Perna, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work to pick up the save. Matt Coyne recorded his first win of the season for the Cantabs. He allowed three runs over five innings. Coyne struck out seven, walked one and gave up 10 hits. The Thunder pulled to within 1 run in the 5th following an RBI groundout for Ziegler and a run-scoring double for Samaras. But the 'Tabs responded in the bottom half of the inning with 2 runs on RBI singles by LaPointe and Griglun. The Cantabs are off for the weekend of May 9-10.
