Bryan Goosens had a debut for the ages, leading the Spinners to a dramatic 1-0 win over the White Sox in extra innings. He went seven innings, giving up just two hits while striking out ten. He helped his own cause by picking off a base runner in the fourth and the great fielding of Matt Gioia and Danny Caceres helped keep the White Sox off the board. Isaac Valdiviezo scored the lone run of the game in the eighth, after he was hit by a pitch, moved to second on a Ricky Salvia sacrifice and scored on a Mark Killoren sac fly. The White Sox loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning with no outs, but Pat Clapp shut down the rally with three consecutive strikeouts. Juan Carlos Ulloa pitched five and two thirds innings, striking out six in the no decision.
