|When is the New Player Tryout for the 2020 season?
There is no league tryout, but teams do hold their own as needed. By registering for the Boston Park League, all managers have access to the Player Pool and will contact players they are interested in based on their credentials.
How competitive is the Boston Park League
This wood bat league has teams comprised mostly of current or former college level ballplayers, as well as some former professional players. While there is no age cutoff, ranges are typically from 18 to 40's.
How many games do teams typically play and when does the season start/end?
The schedule will be about 32 games, plus playoffs. Our season begins mid-May, with playoffs concluding late-August. This schedule makes it easy for college players to participate in a full summer season.
When and where are games played?
Games are typically played weekday evenings, with start times ranging from 7:30PM to 8PM. We typically do not play weekends. Most games are played on 5 fields within the City of Boston, in Dorchester, Hyde Park, Roslindale, Brighton, and East Boston.
What is the cost to play?
Depends on the team you end up playing with. Those that charge fees to play have varying rates.
