The Gray's knock the reigning League Champions out of playoff contention with hard fought 8-5 win in Waltham. Matt Ferro threw 6 innings giving up 5 runs although none were earned. The Gray's defense did not do Ferro many favors however, the A's seemed to capitalize on every Gray miscue with clutch hits.

The offense was led by Bret Samboy who continues his torrid offensive pace going 3-4 with 4 RBI, including mammoth 3-Run home run to spark a 6 run 3rd inning. Matt Ferro and Phil Carignan each added 2 hits and 2 RBI.

The Gray's close the season out Thursday against the Dodgers and will be the 3 seed in the playoffs.

The Gray's had a monster day at the plate scoring 15 runs on 17 hits in a mercy shortened win. The offense was led by Bret Samboy and Brett Nowlin who each had 4 hits with Samboy driving in 4 RBI. Matt Ferro added 3 hits and Phil Carignan and Paul Branche drove in 4 and 3 respectfully.

Samboy shined on the mound throwing 5 1/3 innings striking out 5 to pick up his second win of the year.

Grays win a 1-0 pitchers duel between Tom Plumitallo and Brett O'Keefe. Plumitallo threw a CG shutout giving up 5 hits, striking out 4. O'Keefe, saddled with the unlucky loss, threw all 7 giving up only 5 hits and 1 unearned run.

The Grays strung together 3 straight hits in the 5th allowing them to score one run on a misplayed ball which would be all Plumitallo and the Gray's defense would need.

The Gray's are back in action Monday under the lights in Weymouth against the Dodgers.

The Gray's offense exploding for 13 runs in 3 innings to win the game just before the rain started to fall in Quincy.

Dave Clarke gets his first win of the year throwing 6 strong innings, striking out 7 as the Grays beat a short staffed Dodger team.

Bret Samboy led the Gray's offense with 3 hits and 2 RBI. The Dodgers battled back in the 6th, scoring 2 off a few Gray's misplays in the field. The Gray's responded with 2 more in the bottom half of the 6th giving Brett Nowlin more than enough cushion for his first save of the year.

The Gray's are back in action Saturday against the Surgeons.

The Sox rally from behind for a dramatic 7-5 win in Quincy over the Grays. Tom Plumitallo kept the Sox off balance all day as the Grays built a 5-1 lead through 5. But the Sox bats rallied in the 6th with back to back doubles by Ryan Foley and Omar Ortiz followed by big two out back to back doubles by Will Peterman and Yunior Gonzales and the game tying two out single on a 3-2 count by Mike Lembo.

The Sox added two more in the top of the 7th and Gabriel Ramirez struck out the side in the bottom of the frame to earn his league leading 7th win.

The Gray's win in come back fashion scoring 3 in the 7th. Bret Samboy got his first start of the year throwing 3 2/3 innings. Samboy ran into some trouble in the 4th as the Red Sox strung together 4 hits, plating 5. Tom Plumitallo helped close out the 4th and Matt Ferro shut the door the rest of the way, throwing 3 scoreless innings striking out 5.

Ferro led the Gray's offense scoring 2 runs on 3 hits. Holden French also picked up 3 hits including a clutch single in the 7th to keep the Gray's rally alive. Phil Carignan, Trey Benitez and Zac Stiffler all added hits in the 7th allowing the Gray's to take the lead for good.

Ferro had no problem closing the door in the bottom of the 7th but got some help from Rob Prenovitz who made an incredible diving play to end the game.

The Gray's seem to be clicking at the right time and will test that against the Sox this Saturday.

The Grays win the season series against the Cutters in walk-off fashion. With 2 outs and the bases loaded in the 7th, Dave Clarke stepped to the plate and ripped a full-count single to left driving in the tying and game winnings runs.

Tom Plumitallo threw a CG picking up his 3rd win of the year. Matt Ferro launched an rocket of a home run in the 4th for his first of the year.

The Cutters got to Plumitallo in the 5th for 2 runs and battled to get one across in the 7th to take a 3-2 lead before Clarke sealed the game for the Grays. Dan Wilson threw a solid 7 innings for the Cutters.

The Grays are back in action Wednesday against the Snappers.

Grays win. Jared Walsh picks up his 4th win of the year throwing 4 strong innings. Matt Ferro held the Cutters in check in relief and Tom Plumitallo picked up his first save of the year.

Zac Stiffler led the offense with reaching base in all 3 of his at bats including 2 hits.

The Cutters tested the Grays in the 5th inning, putting multiple men on base but Joff Smith kept the Grays lead alive by throwing out 2 base runners at the plate. The Cutters and Grays meet Saturday for the rubber match of the series.

The Gray's respond to Saturday's loss with a full team win against the Red Sox in Roslindale. Tom Plumitallo picked up the win throwing 6 1/3 giving up 3 earned and striking out 7. Dave Clarke came into a bases loaded one out situation in the 7th and quickly got a double play to pick up his first save of the year.

Bret Samboy and Abel Faron led the offense with 2 and 1 RBI respectively with 2 hits each. Trey Benitez sealed the win in the 6th with a 2 out, 2 RBI double to give the Grays a much needed cushion.

The Grays end the first half of the year at 6-6 knowing their bats haven't even begun to wake up. They get over a week off before taking on the Cutters on July 10th.

Brett O’Keefe dazzled and threw a complete game no hitter against the Grays on a stifling hot day at Moxley in Watertown. The only runners to reach base via an error and a walk.

The A’s scored 2 in the first thanks to timely hits by Muollo and Tessari, and that was all they would need as O’Keefe kept the Grays bats off balance all game. Jared Walsh was the tough luck loser, as he threw 4 straight 1-2-3 innings to end the ball game, surrendering only the runs in the first inning.

Both the A’s and Grays are now 5-6 on the season and are fighting for playoff spots. The Grays play the Red Sox Sunday, and the A’s are off until July 9 against the Spinners.

The Spinners outlasted the Grays 11-6 Saturday in Quincy. Colletta Field proved to be a tough venue for both teams, as both sides made eight combined errors. However, it was the Cambridge bats that made the difference.

Mark Killoren and Bobby Maccioli led the Spinners with three hits apiece and each drove in a run. Mike Navarro scored twice and Dan Caceres drove in two runs.

Ryan Feeney earned the win on the mound, going 3.2 innings, giving up four earned runs in five hits while striking out three. Austin Arnold and Pat Clapp came on in relief to preserve the win.

South Shore scored three runs in the first to take an early lead and their offense was led by Phil Carignan, who scored twice for the Grays.

The Grays are back at it Monday night when they'll take on the Spinners in Weymouth.

The Cambridge Spinners began their 2018 campaign in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 come from behind win. Down 3-2 in the sixth inning, pinch hitter Luc Kocher singled and pinch-runner Joe Tufo scored on a Colin Sullivan double. The Spinners loaded the bases in the seventh and Mike Knell drove in the winning run.

Pat Clapp earned the win in relief, going two innings giving up one hit while striking out two. Chris Muse-Fisher started for the Spinners, giving up three runs on four hits while striking out ten.

Tom Plumitallo pitched six innings for the Grays, striking out eight. Jared Walsh, Dave Clarke and Anthony Montone scoring in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead.

Ricky Salvia scored in the first inning on a Mark Killoren double and Sullivan scored on a Greg Megerdichian single in the second.
