Sean Magee went the distance to lead the Reds to their second consecutive appearance in the finals. Offensively, Mike Ciano led the Reds with 4 big hits. More details to come later. Congratulations to the Indians on a tremendous season, to Manager of the Year Nick Bondola, and to the numerous players receiving well-deserved votes in this year's awards.

The Indians blasted their way back into the series with a big 9-3 win over the Reds. Jeff James was at the top of his game on the mound, picking up the complete game victory. Up 6-3 with two on and one out in the fifth, James showed some veteran poise inducing Steve Corda into a fly ball out (after falling behind 3-0) and then striking out Ramos to get out of the jam.

Mike Kiely and Greg Bennett provided most of the offense for the Indians as they both had 2 hits and 3 RBI. Pete John knocked in two of the three runs for the Reds with a triple, and Tony Ramos played outstanding D behind the plate, throwing out 3 would-be base stealers.

Chris Allen led the Reds to a huge victory over the Indians. Allen pitched the complete game, while also showing his catlike reflexes defensively on the mound. The Reds infield also helped out with some huge plays to get out of jams against a potent tribe lineup.

Daryl Pina had a gutsy performance on the mound, pitching on 2 days rest.

The Reds offense was led by Steve Corda who notched four hits total while driving in a few.

El Gato with the win, Corda paces the offense.

For the second time in three days, Daryl Pina shut out the Tigers to win the series for the Indians. Pina struck out four and allowed just three hits.

The Indians got all they'd need in the first as Marco Abreu knocked in Kevin Faria and Charlie Engasser followed with a double to score Abreu.

The Tigers made it interesting in the top of the 7th by loading the bases with one out, but Abreu connected with Engasser to force an out at home, and then parted the masses to catch a foul ball to seal the W.

Brian Houlding pitched well in defeat for the Tigers. Congrats to the Tigers for a great series and season.

The Tigers stayed alive thanks to a gem from Nate Pane and some timely hitting from the heart of the order. Pane took a perfect game into the 4th, and ended up losing the shutout on an unearned run in the 7th, finishing with 3K, 0BB, and just 4 hits on 76 pitches (57 strikes).

Pane also did a number with the bat, sac bunting the first run to third before Murphy's sac fly, and scoring the winning run in the 5th on Stevens' clutch 2-strike hit to right. Belcastro picked up the other RBI on another nice piece of hitting, fighting off a James fastball in to RF. Matt Giblin also had an excellent game with 2 singles, 1R, and 6 assists at SS.

Jeff James pitched well, striking out 5, but took the tough loss. The Tigers victory forces game 3, sure to be another exciting match up...

Daryl Pina led the Tribe over the Tigers, throwing a 2-hit, complete game shutout. Pina struck out eight and walked one. Nick Bondola had a big night at the plate, knocking in the first two runs of the game. Kevin Faria and Marco Abreu also picked up RBIs for the Indians.

Chad Griffiths pitched very well for the Tigers, allowing just two hits over the first 5 innings. Scott Stevens picked up both of the hits for his squad.

After spending a good 1.5 hours on the field, the A's and Indians decided to make good use of it and played a long one. The Tribe ultimately won in the 12th (maybe 11th) on a bases loaded walk by Brian Greene. Daryl Pina picked up the win in relief, going 4 scoreless. Kevin McGowan and Jason DeVeau both had great efforts for their squads, but went home with matching NDs.

Thanks to the A's and umps for the fieldwork and patience, glad we got this one in.

The Marlins kept rolling with a 5-1 victory over the Tribe at Chelsea High. Co-ace Kevin Brennan threw six superlative innings on two days' rest for the victory. Details and stats to come...

The Tribe took one from the Grays on a clear night at Chelsea. Daryl Pina picked up the win, throwing three innings of scoreless relief. All but one of the runs were scored in the 4th, as the Grays plated 3 in the top and the Indians followed with 6 in the bottom. Justin Rothwell had a key RBI and ran the bases like a champ.

The Indians beat the Sox 8-4 to take the second game of their two team doubleheader. Daryl Pina shook off the honeymoon rust to pick up the win. The Sox grabbed an early lead off the newlywed with 4 in the second, but Mr. Penza battled back to hold them scoreless the rest of the way. Brian Greene had 2 hits and made a number of nice plays in the field to help the cause. Levesque hit the ball hard for the Sox.

Jeff James came 2 outs within a no-no as the Tribe beat the O's, 6-0. James had faced just one over the minimum thru six and had one out in the 7th before Jordan Krall snuck a seeing eye ground ball through the right side. James struck out 9 and walked just one. Justin Rothwell had a good day at the plate, going 2-4 with 2 RBIs.

The Tribe outlasted the Pads in a seesaw battle at Carlos Pena's stomping grounds in Haverhill. Jason DeVeau picked up the win with a workman-like six innings. Mike Kiely and Josh Hale each had a triple for the first two three-baggers of the Indian summer. Darwin Mesa had good game for the Padres with three hits.

It was a day for lefties as Jeff James and Jason DeVeau helped the Tribe top the Dodgers, 7-1. James picked up the complete game win, while DeVeau broke out with a 3-4 day at the plate (2 1B, 1 2B, 1 R, 2 RBI). Charlie Engasser also had 3 hits for the Indians. Mahoney played well for the Dodgers, going 2-4 and scoring the lone Dodgers run in the bottom of the first.
