In an epic championship showdown game that may have signaled the passing of the torch of MSBL pitching dominance from experience to youth, Medford Mets' ace Steve Hueston mixed a devastating sharp curve, 90 mph fastball, and ultra-sharp command of the strike zone to stymie a talent-laden, disciplined Somerville Senators lineup for nine innings. Senators starter Dan Murray gave up 2 more runs than in last Sunday's Game One 6-4 Senators victory, before departing the game with the bases loaded, handing the ball to MSBL Hall of Famer Steve Donovan. Pitching on two days rest, Donovan promptly extinguished the threat and held the Mets scoreless the rest of the way with his trademark precision pitching.
