In one of the most drawn-out games ever played at salsa-swinging Clifford, the O's offense outlasted the Red Sox plate patience. The Red Sox were helped out by an Orioles' staff that hit 5 batters and walked 9 before the lights went out with 2 outs in the 7th.

Ryan Bere picked up his first MABL win, pitching 4.1 innings of relief, yielding only 2 runs. He was backed by a defenense that played error-free ball, turning 3 double plays and nailing a runner trying to steal home on a wild pitch.

Some highlights:
Will Wilde 3-4, a double short of the cycle, hit a 3-run HR towards the softball field in Center.
Jay Thomas hit a 400-ft single, circling the bases with what appeared to be a HR, only to be ruled out on appeal as he never touched 2B.
Cruz, Magsam, Greenlaw also had 2 hits each.

The Orioles and Reds battled in a back and forth shootout at Fallon in game 2 of the double header. Carlos Mejia picked up the win in relief giving up 1 run in 2 2/3 innings. Chris Allen pitched a perfect seventh to pick up the save.
The Reds offense was led by Joe Dunne. Dunne went 3-3 with 2BB scoring 3 and driving in 1. Matt Bloomer and Carlos Mejia also had 2 hits a piece.

The O's had a great offensive attack themselves as: Will Wilde, Steve Maycock, Kevin Greenlaw, Ryan Bere, Steve Magsam and Jordan Krawl all had multiple hit games.

Adam Clark pitched a gem for the Orioles, holding the Astros to 3 scattered hits and 0 earned runs.

Clark got all the run support he would need in the first two innings, thanks to a 2-RBI double by Jay Thomas in the 1st and an RBI groundout by Jason Bressner in the 2nd. The O's added two insurance runs in the 7th that served as a cushion when the Astros tried to mount a spirited comeback in the botom of the 7th, one which brought the tying run to the plate.

Ryan Bere paced the Oriole attack from the leadoff spot with a solid day at the plate: 2-3, BB, 2R. Eric Harvey pitched well in defeat, surrendering only 3ER and striking out 8 in a CG performance.

Jay Thomas smacks big 2-run double in 1st. Eric Harvey K's 8 in defeat.

Pitching in front of throngs of adoring fans, Kevin Brennan twirled a complete game beauty to lead the Marlins past the Orioles at Ross Field Friday night. KB was sharp all night, striking out ten O's and keeping his walk total well below a dozen while scattering five hits. He found trouble only briefly in the third when a Fran Morales single plated Davis and Bere for a short-lived 2-1 O's lead, but worked his way out of the jam and shut the door from that point on.

The Fish took the lead for good in the home half of the third when Gregg Howard (2-4, 3 RBI) knocked in two with a bases loaded single and Jason Skypeck followed with an RBI double. The Marlins later put the game away in the sixth when an Andy Katz (2-4, 2 2B, 2 R) double led to a three run rally. Also with two hits were freshly caught Fish Al Becker and Kit Kadlec.

Steve Maycock shutdown the Padres for 6 innings, until the 7th. The Orioles were up 3-0 until.....

Steve Baldassari walked and got to second on a wild-pitch. Charles Luoma singled him in to make in 3-1. Then Statman's 42nd ranked player Leigh Zancewicz hit his 2nd HR of the season to tie the game. Darwin Mesa doubled and advanced to third on a wp. Then with 2 outs on a freak play Mesa stared to steal home as Julio Patrone hit one right back to the pitcher as he stoleand the ball went pass the pitcher for an infield hit. Victor Ruiz earned another win in his CG effort striking out 8 birds.

Patrone said after the game 'I knew I was going to get a hit because today is my birthday'

After fixing up Ryan with a record 500+ lbs of sand, the Orioles and Grays played an exciting game. The O's struck first with a pair in the first inning. The Grays chipped away with 2 in the 3rd and 3 in the 4th after a Dumas 2R single.

In the 6th, the Orioles cut the lead to 1 after a 2-run error. With 2 outs in the top of the 7th, Wilde and Davis hit back-to-back infield hits. After a Bere walk, Jordan Krall hit his 2nd double of the game giving the Orioles the lead. A bases loaded HBP gave the Orioles some insurance.

Kevin Bell took the tough loss, striking out 13 in a complete game.

Jay Thomas came in for an injured Tim Fish in the first inning, and struck out 12 in 6.1 innings.

Adam Clark outdueled Shane Steffans to earn his first MABL win. In a game that was done in under 2 hours, the Rangers struck first in the first with a single, 450 ft triple and single by Caprio, Vin Paquette and O'Donell. Those were the only runs though as Clark threw 6 innings of shutout ball.

After a groundball plated Jay Thomas in the 2nd, the O's got a clutch 2 out single from Thomas with 2 runners on. The tying run scored on the single and the go ahead run scored on an errant throw to 3rd. The Rangers threatened in the 6th getting runners on first and second with 1 out when Clark struck out the next 2. In the 7th, the Rangers got a runner on 3rd with one out and Clark struck out the last 2 batters of the game.

Clark ended with 7 IP, 2 ER, 7 K and the O's got hits from Davis, Cruz, Krall, Thomas, Greenlaw.

For the Rangers, Steffans went 5.2 allowing 3 runs and Bristol went 3-3,2B and Caprio went 2-3,1R

The Tribe completed a series sweep of the Orioles with a rain-shortened 12-1 victory at Chelsea.

Daryl Pina picked up the win for the Indians. Marco Abreu led the offense with 2 doubles, a triple and a handful of RBIs/runs.

Ariel Martinez bested Adam Clark in a great pitchers duel. Ariel went the distance while K'ing 8 and allowing only 1ER off of 4 hits. Clark was nearly as good as he also only yielded 4 hits while K'ing 6, walking none and giving up 2 runs (1ER).

The Royals struck in the first as Felix Villalobos (1 for 3, R, SB) singled and stole 2nd and then was plated on a deep Greg Kosc double (1 for 3, 2B, RBI). That run held up until the 5th when Greenlaw walked and on some heads-up base running moved up to third on a sacrifice bunt. With 2 outs, Mike Davis (1 for 3, RBI, SB, K) blooped a single to center to tie up the score.

In the top of the 6th, Clark got two quick outs before hitting Matt O'Hara (0 for 1, R, SB, HBP), and giving up a single to TJ Unger (1 for 3, SB). On a pickoff attempt, O'Hara stole 3rd, and on the next pitch scored the winning run when TJ stole second and the ball sailed into the OF.

The Orioles picked up their 2nd win of the season behind solid pitching and aggressive baserunning. Steve Maycock picked up his first MABL win by going the distance in the heat, and giving up just 2 ER. He struck out 8 and also collected 2 hits in the game.

The Orioles stole 9 bases with Jay Thomas's 3 leading the way. Other notables were Mike Davis (2-3, 2 SB), Steve Magsam (1-1, 2 BB, SB), Mitch Syp (2 BB) and Brett Zani (1-3).

After a problem with the lights at Ryan was cleared up (thanks, Dino), the Astros jumped out to a four run lead after two and improved to 9-3 with a 5-0 victory over the Orioles.
Eric Harvey started the game and gave up a double to the second batter he faced, Jordan Krall, halting his hitless innings streak at 14. Harvey threw six shutout innings to get to 7-2 and has still not allowed a run in his last 20 IP. He struck out 12 O's including a stretch of five batters in a row looking. Jaime Manciocchi pitched a hitless seventh.
Tony Ricupero was red hot in the leadoff spot. He went 4-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Coop is now six for his last seven. Must be the new belt. Mike Vernon, Josh Vernon, and Jon Mayes each added RBI and Ron Viola had a double and scored twice.
