Game 2 had plenty of action right from the start as the Braves scored 7 in the top of the first. Palmer made a comeback bid, scoring 4 in the third. They threatened again in the fifth with a leadoff double by Ty Cali. Jack Magone followed with a hard hit ball of his own but Braves third baseman Steve Rizzuto made a highlight reel play, diving to his left and holding the runner at second before throwing to first for the out. A Jim Perron line drive found the glove of Braves shortstop Hector Coscione standing behind second base to end the inning. That was as close as it got as the Braves added to their lead in the sixth and seventh innings.
Palmer centerfielder Aiden Hawley showed impressive range on several balls over his head and into the gaps while going 3-3 with 2 extra base hits.
Despite the long first inning, Palmer veteran Tony Trafecanty settled in and threw 5 innings keeping Palmer in the game.

PALMER CLUB CLINCHES PLAYOFF BIRTH!! Moose Bussiere was in top form (reminiscent of his Towne Club days) on this hot and muggy night. Moose went 5 strong innings striking out 7, scattering 6 hits, and allowing 2 unearned runs. Flamethrower George of the jungle Breslin came in for the 6th & 7th to slam the door shut. Offense was tough to come by; but "Mad" Max Iorio was able to get it going in the 2nd scoring on a big triple by Eric Shortley. Shortley would also score in the inning. Chris White would tally another run in the 4th, after hitting a single and motoring around the bases due to a series of miscues in the field. On this play White would have to leave the game due to a sliding mishap. The Suffolk players aren't used to actually getting on base, so the concept of sliding is foreign to them. The final run would be scored by speedster Jim Perron in the 5th on a single by youngster Jose Toledano.
