Boston Braves stole the lead late and defeated Canton Royals 8-7 on Sunday. The game was tied at two with Boston Braves batting in the top of the fifth when John Gailey doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. A four-run lead in the seventh inning was just enough for Boston Braves to hold off Canton Royals for the victory. Canton Royals scored three runs in the failed comeback on a walk by Sullivan, a single by Mawe, and a walk by Weber. Boston Braves opened up scoring in the first inning, when Jack Lampert doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. After Boston Braves scored one run in the top of the sixth, Canton Royals answered with one of their own. Boston Braves scored when an error scored one run for Boston Braves. Canton Royals then answered when Corrothers drew a walk, scoring one run. Canton Royals scored three runs in the seventh inning. Sullivan, Mawe, and Weber all drove in runs in the frame.
