Great pitching duel early between Pirates' Jon Shikora and Senators' Mark Infurna. Pat Dempsey had the go ahead RBI single in the 6th and then floodgates opened in the 7th, capped by a two run double by Brian Benulis. Jon Shikora picks up his first win in a Pirates uniform, striking out 8 over 6+ strong innings to win it for away team, 9-4. The Pirates move to 3-0 on the season and will travel back home to face the North Shore Havoc on Sunday in Dedham.

The Pirates got out to a large early lead in the home opener at Barnes Memorial Park in Dedham, but almost blew it. Aseltine was solid except for a nightmare 4th inning which saw him issue 4 walks and the Pirates yuck up the ball around the infield with a couple miscues. The Pirates held on by a final score of 11-8 against a good hitting Senators team. The Bucs offense picked up right where they left off during the rainsoaked Wednesday evening by banging out 13 hits. Pirates rookie Patrick Dempsey took home the Pirates' chest with a McDreamy performance going 3 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI.
