In dramatic extra frames, the White Sox scored first to defeat the Marlins 1-0 in walk-off style in the deciding Game 3 of the Atlantic Conference Semifinals.

Al Wiesner of the White Sox was masterful, pitching 8 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits, 2 walks and striking out 8. For the Marlins, Neil Doherty was almost as masterful, shutting out the White Sox for 7 innings, allowing only 3 hits, 2 walks and striking out 4.

In the bottom of the 8th, all with no outs, Jim Baldyga reached on a misperceived fly ball to left. Dan Field then walked. Hiro then entered for the Marlins (his 3rd outing in 3 games), relieving Doherty, and walked John Howe to load the bases. Nate Pane then delivered a clean single to drive in Baldyga to lead the Sox to victory and send them to the Atlantic Conference Finals versus the Royals.

The White Sox evened the Atlantic Semi's at 1-1 with a victorious battle over the Fish.

The Sox struck right away when Mike McInnis and Al Wiesner walked to start off the game and scored on a wild pitch and a Joe Lombardi sac fly. The M's brought it back to 2-1 when Tim Sheflin singled and scored. But when 5 straight Sox reached in the 5th, it proved enough.

Down 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th, the Marlins scored 1 run on an error. Then with the tying and winning run on base, Eamonn McDonough finished what he started and forced a flyout to Joe Lombardi to end the game and pick up the win.

Noteworthy: Dating back to the regular season, Mike McInnis has reached in 15 of 16 PA's (6 for 7 with 9 walks).

The Marlins took the early advantage in the best of three conference semi finals with a 6-1 victory over the White Sox at Cleveland Circle.

Hiro Nakamura was in postseason form, going the distance for the Fish when they needed it most. Hiro scattered five hits and struck out 6, while keeping the Sox off balance with a deceptive delivery.

The Marlins got all of the offense they would need in the 3rd, when Andy Katz scored on an error, and Chris Ryan doubled in Adam Etherington before scoring himself. Katz later added some insurance in the 5th with an RBI single.

Dan Field stood out behind the plate for the White Sox, gunning down two would be Marlin base stealers.

The Marlins proved once again that pitching and defense wins games in the postseason as they avenged a regular season loss against Braves ace Chris O'Sullivan, winning the Atlantic conference Wild Card game 8-1 at Billings Field.

Neil Doherty twirled a masterpiece, picking up the first postseason win in Marlins history by virtue of a complete game, 3 hit performance. He once again epitomized control pitching by allowing only 2 walks, while striking out 2.

The Marlins broke a scoreless tie with 7 runs in the 3rd, highlighted by a perfect hit and run single by Chris Ryan, in addition to RBI singles by Paul Bracco and Matt King and a bases loaded walk to Andy Katz. Davin Wilfrid later added a rocket triple to the left center gap in the 6th.

Adam Etherington was lights out at short, handling 10 chances cleanly, and Tim Sheflin robbed Chad Pires of extra bases, hauling in a long drive up the slope in left in the 4th.

The Marlins played errorless defense and rode a 14 hit attack to their first playoff berth in franchise history with a 9-2 win over the DBacks at Ryan Field.

Matt King threw a complete game six hitter for his first MABL win, walking 3 and striking out 4. He was helped by double plays in the first and fifth innings, and by a runner caught stealing by catcher Joe Montoya in the third.

Six Marlins had two hits on the day, including Adam Etherington (3B,RBI,SB), Paul Bracco (3B,SB), and King (2 2B, 4 RBI).

Jeremy Broadwell took the loss for the DBacks.

Neil Doherty won his second decision in as many starts against the Mariners this season as the Marlins prevailed 5-1 at East Boston.

Doherty pitched a complete game four hitter, throwing only 65 pitches while walking none and striking out 2. The Marlins defense contributed two double plays, and Paul Bracco added two more outfield assists from center.

Chris Ryan gave the Marlins an early lead with a triple to left center in the third, setting off a four run inning against Mariner starter Tom DeVeau.

Ken Kilduff took a no hitter into the 7th but it was broken up with a 1 out single by Davin Wilfrid. Kilduff finished up the complete game victory allowing just 2 hits while striking out a career high 13 batters.

Offensively, the Yanks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st with a Jeff McHugh single and a Frank Kowalski sac fly. Paul Reggio pitched in with a clutch 2 out single in the 4th to give the Yanks some insurance.

Chris Ryan pitched well for the Marlins but picked up the loss in 5 innings of work allowing just 1 earned run.

In an ugly game, the White Sox outdueled the Marlins to regain 1st place in the Atlantic Conference.

The Sox drew 10 walks to go with 7 hits, and stole 12 bases, led by Al Wiesner with 5. Additionally, 2 runs scored on wild pitches, 2 runs scored on passed balls, and one run scored on a throwing error by the pitcher. Great base running put Sox runners in position to score. The Marlins drew 9 walks, 2 HBP and 6 hits of their own.

Going into the 5th, the Marlins held a 6-4 lead before the Sox exploded for 7 runs in the inning behind hits from John Howe, Hugh Guilderson (3 for 3), Roger Malouf and 4 walks. The Fish eventually brought the score back to 11-9, but that was all they would muster.

Brian Houlding started the game, but withdrew in the 3rd inning. Nate Pane tossed 4.2 innings of 2-hit relief to pick up his first MABL win.

For the Marlins, Chris Ryan picked up a pair of hits. Hiro took the loss.

Neil Doherty held the potent Cards offense at bay for 7 solid innings and the Marlins put up 9 runs to come out on top at Clifford Field.

Chris Ryan got the offense going for the Fish in the bottom of the first, belting a solo homer to right center. The Marlins then added two in the second, when after a perfect sacrifice by Joe Montoya, Matt King singled to center scoring two.

The bottom of the Marlins order came through again in the fourth inning. Davin Wilfrid hit a one out triple, and then scored on a fielders choice by Paul Bracco. Another single by King scored Bracco, and a double by Tim Sheflin knocked in another run. The outcome was sealed in the fifth when Ryan, Wilfrid and Bracco all drove in single runs.

Doherty again relied on pinpoint control to pick up his 4th win of the season, picking up 5 K's while walking only one and allowing only 2 earned runs. Jeff James (7-1) took the loss for the Cards.

Andrew Marenghi came up huge for the Royals in his 1st MABL start against the Marlins. Marenghi K'd 9 and gave up only 4 Marlins hits while going the complete game. Only 1 of the 3 runs Marenghi yielded was earned.

Felix Villalobos led the previously slumping Royals offense by going 3 for 3 with a 2B, 3R and 4RBI. Felix also took home on double steal in the 2nd to provide the Royals with a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Steve Palumbo had the Royals' only other multi-hit game going 2 for 3 with an RBI.

The Marlins offense was led by Adam Etherington (2 for 3, 2B, 2RBI) and Chris Ryan (2 for 4) who also took the loss on the mound.

Hiro Nakamura of the Marlins and Rob Sherman of the A's squared off in a prime time pitcher's duel in East Boston. Timely offense made the difference for the Marlins as they emerged with a 3-1 victory.

The A's were first to strike as Pedro Gil (2-3, run) singled, stole second and scored on a Michael Elko single in the third. The Marlins answered in the bottom half with Matt King scoring on a fielders choice grounder by Nakamura.

The Marlins later added single runs in the 5th and 6th; the first on an RBI single by Andy Katz scoring Brian Mahoney and later an infield single by Paul Bracco plating Nakamura.

In the meantime, Hiro was lights out on the hill, allowing only 5 hits and walking none. He collected 8 strikeouts while going the distance for his 5th victory of the season.

Sherman (5-6) was equally brilliant for the A's, striking out 6 to become only the 4th pitcher in the last 8 years to reach 100 in a MABL season.

The Astros (3-17) overcame eight errors to clip the Marlins (8-10) at Cleveland Circle 11-10.
Down 10-6 heading into the last inning, the 'stros crossed the plate five times with two outs. Dan Schumaker started the scoring with a three-run double, Jeff Roy walked, Tim Clark singled sharply, and Kevin Gorman (2H, R, RBI), reached base for the fourth time with a HBP to drive in the tying run. Owen Devine's infield hit drove in Clark for the winning run. Clark (2-for-3, BB, 2R) was playing his first game of the season after a 19-game stint on the DL.
Tyler Walsh threw all seven innings to earn the complete game victory. He allowed ten runs, three earned, ten hits, four walks and three K's. Neil Doherty took the loss for the Marlins.
Chris Ryan belted a three-run home run in the third to bring the Marlins within one. Josh Misiph was stranded at third after a lead-off triple in the seventh.

Schumaker 3RBI and solid at third, Walsh notches first career win in MABL, Devine drives in the game winner.

The Marlins won their second straight, building a 6-2 lead behind Hiro Nakamura (5IP, 2ER, 3H, 4K) before the game is called due to rain in the top of the 6th.

The Fish opened the scoring in the top of the first with a sacrifice fly by Davin Wilfrid and a bases loaded walk to Joe Montoya, only to have the DBacks answer in the bottom half with a RBI double by Jeremy Broadwell and a run scoring single by Bill Schellbach.

The bottom of the Marlins order countered in the top of the 2nd, loading the bases for Chris Ryan, who cleared them with a double to center. A home run by Adam Etherington in the 3rd was the final blow.

Three Marlin pitchers combined on a two hitter and the Fish snapped a three game losing streak with the 9-3 win at East Boston.

Every Marlin starter reached base in the game, and the balanced attack was led by Hiro Nakamura (2 - 3, 2 RBI, 2 SB), Josh Misiph (2 - 3, 3 RBI) and Paul Bracco (2 - 3, HBP). Bracco also collected two outfield assists, and has to be near the top in the league with 7 so far this season.

Neil Doherty earned his 3rd win of the season, coming on in relief of Joe Montoya in the 4th and pitching 3 solid innings after going 5 last night. Chris Ryan closed out the Reds in the 7th to seal the victory.

Former Marlin Joe Dunne led the Reds with a single, walk and a pair of stolen bases on the afternoon.
