It was a long day of baseball yesterday for the Royals. First up was a continuation of a suspended game that started back on June 6th. The Royals and Cubs were tied going into the 8th inning when the game was called due to light curfew. Fast forward almost two months and the game continued Sunday morning in Weymouth. Brian Burke took over on the hill for the Royals and Tom McDonald took the ball for the Cubs. It was expected that it would be a quick conclusion either way but the two pitchers battled back and forth for 6 more innings of scoreless baseball. And in the bottom of the 13th inning, Burke delivered yet another walk off single giving the Royals a 7-6 win. That made two walk off's for Burke this weekend with the first one coming Friday night against the Mariners.

Huge win for the Royals! Walk off win in extra innings to defeat the Norfolk County Mariners 4-3. Cormac Sullivan took to the mound and as he's been doing all year, he put in a strong start. Sullivan went 5+ giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. Brian Burke took over putting up 4 innings of relief and with the game tied 3-3 in the 9th inning, Burke roped a single to centerfield scoring Ryan Ritell from second base.

The Senator offense has woken up in recent weeks, and this game was no different. After scoring four in the first inning, they continued adding on throughout the game. The Royals battled back in the 5th with a three homer from Phil Perez to tie the game, but the Senators got two back in the bottom of the inning. After a double by Jon Lawlor and an RBI single from Pat Dempsey in the sixth, Adam Simpson added a two run homer of his own to add some insurance runs. Jake Marchesseault picked up his first win in the CABL with a complete game effort in the sweltering heat.
