WRENTHAM - After dropping game 1, the Mariners decided to play walk up music for their guys while on offense and it made all the difference. Jake Mingels tossed 5 innings of shutout ball while OB grilled burgers & dogs to keep the boys energy levels up. They finish the year at 11-11 winning four of their last six as they head to the postseason.

LEXINGTON -- The Gators hit the bats early plating three in the first off DJ Goldberg who found out he was starting the game 10 minutes before it started thanks to scheduled starter Jared Clement not showing up, but through prayer & good karma the Mariners persevered and never gave up. Matt Boulter had quite the day at the plate hitting a double & triple as the Mariners secured a comeback victory over a Gators squad abandoned by their leader Mike Gavin who also was a no-show

WRENTHAM -- Wasn't at this game so here are my thoughts on the Kyrie Irving trade. Although it may seem like a lot to give up on the surface, we all knew Danny Ainge wasn't planning on giving Isaiah Thomas a max contract. Therefore, why wait to let him walk in 2018? Crowder was a huge part of the grit & toughness that was the Celtics brand of basketball, but personally I'd much rather see his minutes go to Jaylen Brown & Jayson Tatum. Tough to give up the Nets pick but with the Lakers 2-5 pick still in play next season, I say great trade.

WRENTHAM -- After losing to the Pirates a week earlier, extending their embarrassing losing streak to 6, the Mariners knew it was time for a change. DJ Goldberg knew there was no time to spare, and immediately ordered twenty new uniforms in a desperate attempt to change the team's identity. Fast forward to Sunday at Horne Field, the new uniforms had arrived & the boys were feeling good. Matt Boulter exclaimed, "I now identify as someone who plays for a winning team." He went on to lead the Mariners offense going 2-3 with a bases clearing triple & four RBI. Jared Clement earned his first W on the season going the distance, fanning 11 Pirates. Chris Horne had a couple hits but apparently forgot how to bunt in the 5th - something we were all taught by Coach Fitz on the freshman baseball team in high school. Fortunately for him, the only people who will care are the seven people reading this recap. Everett went 1-3 with a walk.
