A's TAKE MABL CROWN!

Brett O'Keefe got the complete game win for the A's. He gave up just 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4.

The A's got 2 runs in the 2nd. Barton drove in Tessari on a single to right, and Krall doubled Barton home.

The A's got 3 more in the 3rd. M. Asdornvuttikrai singled and eventually scored on a passed ball. Muollo scored on a singe by McIntyre, who later scored on a passed ball.

The Spinners struck for 2 in the 5th. Valdiviezo led off with a single, and scored on a D. Caceras single. Salvia then hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Feeney. 5-2 A's.

In the 6th, Barton worked a 2-out walk, stole 2nd, stole 3rd, and scored on a passed ball. 6-2 A's.

O'Keefe set the Spinners down 1-2-3 in the 7th, ending the season on a groundout to 2nd.

The Spinners kept their post season alive with a 5-2 win over the Athletics in game three of the finals. Chris Muse-Fisher pitched a complete game, giving up just two runs on one hit while striking out nine.

Mike Knell led the offense with three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs. Dan Caceres also doubled and drove in two runs.

Down 2-0 in the third, Ricky Salvia walked and scored from first on the Knell double to cut the lead 2-1. Greg Megerdichian singled and Mark Killoren reached base in the fourth and both runs were driven in by Caceres and Cambridge took the lead for good.

Mike Navarro singled and scored in the fifth and Isaac Valdiviezo doubled and scored in the sixth.

Rob Muollo scored for Waltham in the top of the first and Tom McIntyre scored on an error to give the A's a 2-0 lead early.

A's TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD

The A's Kyle Breidenstine outdueled the Spinners' Luc Kocher.

In the 1st, Navarro hit a 2-out single, stole second, and was driven home by a Sullivan liner. M. Tufo singled through the left side, but Knell was cut down at the plate by Tessari. 1-0 Spinners.

Tessari led off the 3rd with a single and was sacrificed to 2nd. He advanced on a ball in the dirt and was able to scramble home on an errant throw. 1-1 after 3.

In the 5th, W. Asdornvuttikrai singled, stole 2nd, and was driven in by a Krall liner. 2-1 A's.

In the 6th, the A's got 2 runs on a 2-out rally. M. Asdornvuttikrai singled. Muollo doubled Buddha home. And McIntyre singled Muollo home. 4-1 A's.

The insurance proved important. Tufo, Valdiviezo, and Megerdichian, and Maccioli all singled. But Breidenstine limited them to just 1 run to put the series at 2-0 in favor of the A's.

Game 3 is Wednesday night.

A's TAKE GAME 1 PITCHER'S DUEL

Brett O'Keefe and Pat Donohoe dueled in Game 1 of the Championship Series, but it was O'Keefe and the A's that came out ahead.

In the 2nd, Rob Muollo worked a walk. Nick Barton then ripped a double into the gap to plate Muollo and put the A's up 1-0.

The Spinners' Isaac Valdiviezo singled in the 4th and reached 3rd base, but back-to-back strikeouts from O'Keefe kept the Spinners scoreless.

In the 6th, Brian Balise single and stole 2nd. Bo McIntyre then drove a ball to left to plate Balise and extend the lead to 2.

In the bottom of the 7th, Ricky Salvia singled, stole 2nd, and ultimately reached 3rd. But once again, O'Keefe slammed the door to cap off the complete game shutout.

O'Keefe struck out 7 Spinners and yielded just 3 hits. Barton finished 2-3 with a double and an RBI.

Game 2 is Sunday at 3:00 at Nipper in Waltham.

The Cambridge Spinners stopped all hopes of a White Sox comeback by defeating Boston 2-1 to win game five and the semi-final series three games to two. Chris Muse-Fisher pitched a complete game, giving up one run on four hits while striking out six.

Cambridge scored both of their runs in the bottom of the second inning. Mike Navarro singled to lead off the inning and later scored on a Peter Alain single. With the bases loaded, Colin Sullivan drew a walk that brought in Ryan Feeney.

The Spinners defense kept the White Sox off the board for the rest of the game. Boston stranded runners in scoring positions in the fourth and fifth innings, thanks to brilliant defense by the infield of Navarro, Sullivan, Feeney, Muse-Fisher and Greg Megerdichian.

The White Sox took the lead in the top of the first, when Rommel Peguero singled and later scored on a Marcos Reyes single. Seth Perkins pitched a complete game with four strikeouts.

The Spinners won game two of their semifinal series 1-0 over the White Sox to take a 2-0 series lead. Chris Muse-Fisher pitched a complete game shutout, giving up two hits while striking out ten.

The lone run came in the top of the third inning, when Mike Tufo singled and later scored on a Ricky Salvia single. Tufo led the offense with three hits and Salvia had two.

Seth Perkins pitched a complete game for the White Sox, striking out six.

The Spinners outlasted the White Sox 1-0 to take game one of the semifinals series. Luc Kocher pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three white while striking our seven. Greg Megerdichian scored the lone run in the bottom of the fifth when he tripled and later scored on a Colin Sullivan ground out.

The White Sox threatened in the top of the seventh when Rommel Peguero tripled with one out, but the Cambridge defense kept Boston off the board.

Jon Shepard took the loss for the White Sox. He pitched six innings, giving up one hit while striking out seven. Shepard also helped stop a Spinners rally in the bottom of the fourth with back to back strikeouts with the bases loaded.

Game two is Sunday night in Malden.

In a thrilling season finale, the Spinners outlasted the Red Sox 6-3. Tied 3-3 after eight innings, Cambridge erupted for three runs to put the game out of reach. Kevin Luciano reached base on an error and scored on a Colin Sullivan single. Sullivan and Greg Megerdichian scored on an error later in the inning.

Four Spinners pitchers helped lead the pace, with Dan Blum picking up the win and Patrick Clapp picking up the save, Blum went three and a third innings, giving up two hits and striking out five.

Cambridge scored first when Megerdichian singled in a run and Bobby Maccioli drove in two runs for an early Spinners lead.

Evan Chand drove in all the Red Sox runs on a bases clearing double in the third. Thomas Leanne took the loss for the Red Sox. He pitched eight innings, striking our six.

The Spinners got the bats out early and took care of the Giants 14-1 in a shortened game and their third win by mercy rule this season. Seven Spinners drove in runs and were led by a Greg Megerdichian grand slam home run in the third inning. Mike Tufo, Peter Allain and Mark Killoren drove in two runs apiece and eight different Spinners crossed the plate.

On the mound, Luc Kocher became the MABL's single season wins leader by picking up his tenth win of the season. He pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits while striking out six. Dan Blum came on in relief with two strikeouts.

The Spinners have scored a combine 35 runs in their last 2 meetings.

Backed by the hitting of Mike Knell and Mark Killoren and great Spinners pitching, Cambridge reached the 20-win plateau with a 5-2 win over the Dodgers.

Marty Clarke earned the win, pitching four innings and striking out two. Pat Donahoe pitched two scoreless innings in relief and Pat Clapp earned his record setting seventh save of the season, becoming the MABLs all time single season saves leader.

Down 2-0 in the second, the Spinners bats came alive with five hits. Mike Tufo and Danny Caceres drove in runs to tie the game. A Knell single and Killoren double allowed Ryan Feeney to drive in a run and for Cambridge to take the lead. Knell and Colin Sullivan scored runs in the fifth and sixth innings to close out the scoring.

Alex Ahmed had two hits for the Dodgers and Zach Guarino and Drew Cumming scored in the top of the first inning.

Chris Muse-Fisher threw another gem for the Spinners as they shutout the Athletics 4-0 in Waltham. He went 6 innings, giving just 3 hits while striking out 10. Mike Tufo had 3 hits and drove in a run and Mike Knell added 3 hits and 2 stolen bases.

Cambridge broke open a scoreless tie in the top of the 4th when Mark Killoren doubled and later scored on a throwing error while stealing third base. MTufo and Greg Megerdichian both doubled and drove in runs. Peter Allain scored a run in the fifth after he was hit by a pitch and later scored on a Mike Navarro single.

Nick Barton led the Waltham offense with two hits and pitcher Kyle Breidenstine pitched five innings for the A's. Brendan Huber pitched 2 innings in relief, striking out 3.

Muse-Fisher tosses a gem, as Spinners beat A's 7-0.

Killoren started the Spinners 2nd inning off with a single, and would later score on a throw to 2nd. From there, the spinners didn't look back. In the 4th with 2 outs, Feeney and Allain got on base and scored on a M.Tufo single and Sullivan walk. Spins tacked on 3 more in the 6th after a Gioia lead off single and steal, he scored on a JTufo single. Feeney and Killoren pushed across 2 more that inning. The 7th was capped off by a Clapp RBI single.

Muse-Fisher improved to 3-0, striking out 7 and only allowing 1 hit in 7IP.
