CAMBRIDGE SPINNERS REPEAT!

The Spinners won their second consecutive MABL title Thursday night, beating the Athletics 4-3 and winning the championship series three games to one. Down 3-0 in the fifth, the Spinners mounted a rally and scored four times. Dan Caceres had two hits, including a double and drove in two runs. Greg Megedichian followed it up with a double and two RBIs of his own.
Luc Kocher pitched his second complete game of series, striking out six.

The A's loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh looking to force a fifth game, but the double play duo of Mike Navarro and Ryan Gaffney stopped the rally and ended a dramatic and hard-fought series between the league's top teams.

The Athletics scored three runs in the second to take an early lead. Nick Barton, Jason Tessari and Jay Lamoreaux scored. Kyle Bredenstein pitched a complete game with three strikeouts.

O'KEEFE GETS 10-INNING WIN

The A's walked off with a win in 10 innings to even the series at 1-1.

A pitcher's duel between the O'Keefe and Levensaler ended in a 10-inning win for the A's.

The score stayed tied until the 10th inning, with both teams threatening with runners in scoring position.

In the 10th, the A's McIntyre led off with a single. Pinch-runner Kurtz advanced to 2nd on a Muollo sac bunt. Mahoney then doubled to right, scoring Kurtz. Lamoureux followed with a single up the middle to plate Mahoney and push the lead to 2 runs. 3-1 A's.

Southpaw rookie Will Leineweber goes the distance allowing just 2 hits while striking out 6.

Game cruised until the 4th where both teams had their first true chance to score. But as the Cutters leave 2 men on in the top half of the inning, the A's would do the same, both miss chances.

The fifth would prove to be different as Rob Macdonald triples in 2 runs. Again, in the bottom half, the A's try to do the same and load the bases with 2 outs and could not plate a run.

Rob Maca again added an RBI with a sac fly in the 7th to account for the entire game's 3 RBI and that would be all Leineweber would need. Game 4 Tuesday

Cutters work horse Dan Wilson gets the nod and even though the Sox compiled double digit hits, Wilson throws a complete game to advance the Cutters.

Cutters jumped out in the top of first with 2 runs but in bottom half, Sox put first 2 guys on but the Cutters spin a double play. Move to the third, Cutters get 4 more including a bases clearing double by Levensaler but in bottom of the third, a moonshot dinger by Foote helps Sox cut lead to 6-3 but they leave the bases juiced.

6-3 game until the 6th. From there, the Cutters pull away by putting up a combined 8 runs in the 6th and 7th.

Cutters would make extra base runners hurt by taking advantage of an astounding 15 free base runners, 10 walks and 5 hit batters. 7 of the 9 starters reached base safely at least 3 times. For the series, Cutters play smooth D including several nice double plays and would not make their first error of the series until game 3.
