Sudbury, Ma.- Royals pitcher James Greeley went the distance scattering 5 hits and 2 runs to help lead the Royals to a 2 game sweep of the Red Sox and advance to round 2 of the Metro West playoffs where they will meet the Framingham Orioles. Steve Robb (three hits) + Mike Feetham (3 RBI) led the offense for the Royals. The Red Sox Shawn Clapp hit a towering 2 run homer "out of Feeley" to account for their 2 runs.

In Game 2 of the playoff series, the Phillies jumped out to a huge 9-1 lead after 3 1/2 innings. But, the Cardinals battled back over the next 3 innings to make it 9-8. Then, in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs, Pete Anderson hit a huge game tying single. Two batters later, Kevin Donfield hit a bases loaded walk off single. Simms Hise pitched 3 scoreless innings to get the Win.
