CAMBRIDGE SPINNERS WIN TITLE!

The Spinners capped off their extraordinary season with a 13-5 win over Ben's Dream White Sox to win the championship series three games to one. Marty Clarke earned the win, going five innings and striking out three. Dan Blum pitched the last two innings in relief to seal the championship.

Cambridge's offense exploded for 15 hits and were led by Ryan Gaffney, who had four hits and drove in four runs. Isaac Valvidiezo had two hits, including a triple and drove in four runs. Omar Cacers had three hits, inlcuding two doubles and drove in two runs. Eight different Spinners had hits and everyone in the lineup reached base at least once.

The White Sox played hard and refused to quit. Anthony Morales had three hits and he and Alex Weldon drove in two runs each.

Congratulations to the Cambridge Spinners on an historic first title and to Ben's Dream White Sox for a hard-fought playoff run.

The Spinners won game two of the finals 9-1 over the White Sox. Dan Blum pitched a complete game, giving up one run on three hits while striking out seven.

Leading the offense for the Spinners was Mark Killoren with two hits and two RBIs. Bob Maccioli also had two hits and two runs batted in, as well as Ryan Gaffney. Gaffney also made a big defensive play to stop a Sox rally. In total, eight Spinners had hits in the game.

Cambridge will look to sweep the finals Friday night in Malden.

The Spinners take game one of their championship series against the White Sox 5-2. Luc Kocher went 6.2 innings, giving up two runs, while striking out five. Dan Blomerth came on for the last out and the save.

Isaac Valvidiezo led the offense with two hits and scored twice, while Omar Caceres drove in two runs.

Cambridge jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the White Sox came back. Anthony Morales had two doubles and scored a run while Josh Valero and Bobby Foote each drove in runs.

A's TAKE GAME 3; LEAD 2-1

The White Sox scored the first run of the contest on a Bobby Foote triple and an Omar Ortiz sacrifice fly.

The A's notched it in the 2nd when Patrick Vetter laced an RBI double to center.

The A's scored 3 more in the 4th, capitalizing on RBI singles from Dave Clarke and Warren Asdornvuttikrai. Then then secured insurance runs in the 5th and 6th, including a second RBI double from Vetter.

The White Sox clawed back in the 7th, scoring 3 runs. After Chris Deane ripped a 2-RBI single, which brought the tying run to the plate. But Kyle Breidenstine proved too dominant. He induced a groundout to end the game, finishing with 4 strikeouts and yielding just 4 hits.

For the A's, Vetter finished 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2RBI; Asdornvuttikrai was 3-4 with a RBI; and Barton and Clarke each had 2 hits. For the Sox, Foote and Deane each went 2-3.

Game 4 is Thursday night at Fallon Field.

The Spinners are in the finals for the second time in three years. They beat the Red Sox 8-0 to complete a three game sweep. Dan Blomerth pitched a complete game, giving up three hits while striking out five.

Mark Killoren stayed hot at the plate, going 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Greg Megedichian added a double and drove in two runs and Ryan Gaffney also drove in two runs on a mammoth hit in the fifth inning.

The Spinners now awaiting the winner of the Athletics-White Sox series to see who they will face for the title.

Backed by a big second inning and a complete game from Dan Blum, the Spinners beat the Red Sox 7-2 to take a two games to none lead in the best-of-five series. Blum gave up two runs on five hits, while striking out nine.

The Spinners stayed hot, with ten different players churning out 11 hits. Ricky Salvia was 2-4 with a single, a double and an RBI. Omar Caceres stayed red hot with a single and a run scored and Greg Megedichian double in the second inning and drove in two runs.

Zachary Walker scored a run for the Red Sox in the fifth to get on the board and after coming in as a pinch runner, Daniel Sturtevant scored on a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

HUBER THROWS GEM IN GAME 1 OF SEMIS

Huber set the tone by striking out the side in the top of the first. The A's struck in the bottom half. Nick Barton laced a double to drive in the first run. Dave Clarke hit a single over to drive in Warren Asdornvuttikrai, and Krall drove in the third run on a FC. The younger Asdornvuttikrai keeps playing well, going 2-3 at the plate.

White Sox starter Alex Weldon would settle down, though, cruising through innings 2-5. Weldon also tacked on a hit of his own at the plate. The A's would tack on and insurance run in the 6th on a Brian Colella RBI single.

Things got hairy in the 7th for the A's, as they made 2 errors that would have ended the game. Josh Valerio hit an RBI single to make it 4-1. Huber, though, induced a double play ball, capped by an amazing pick at first by Jay Lamoureux to end the ball game.

Game 2 set for Sunday night at Nipper Maher in Waltham, 7pm.

Dan Blum pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits while striking out eight. Dan Blomerth came on for two innings in relief to secure the win. The Spinners take on the Red Sox Thursday night in the league semifinals.

The Spinners jumped out to a early lead and held on for a 6-3 win over the Grays in game one of their first round series. Luc Kocher pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits while striking out seven. Marty Clarke and Dan Blum came on in relief in the seventh to secure the win.

The Spinners scored all of their runs in the second inning, sending ten batters to the plate. Ricky Salvia had two hits and drove in a run, while Omar Caceres had a triple and scored a run.

The Grays mounted a rally in the seventh. Paul Branche, Matt Giblin and Dan Combs scored runs and the Grays loaded the bases, but the rally came up short.

The Spinners will look to sweep the series tomorrow night in Malden.
