In an epic die-or-die game in which both starters went 9+ as the game went into extra innings, the Cubs bookmarked the game with four run 1st and 10th innings while the Yankees initially clawed back to tie the game at 5 in the 4th inning and were able to get 1 back in the 10th. But that was not enough to beat Billy McGee, who went 9.1 innings and giving up 3ERs while striking out 7. McGee gave way to Eric Walz who recorded the two out save in the 10th only seconds before the lights (on an automatic timer) turned off. The Cubs move on to face the Malden Braves on Sunday.

The Bucs erased a 7-2 deficit thanks to some timely hitting off a parade of Yankees pitchers. Jackson Schuyler led the way for the Pirates, going 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI. Nate Fishman worked six strong innings for his second win of the season.
