Saints come back from a 6-0 defecit and the win to clinch a playoff spot. Saints took advantage of 14 Beacon walks to score 10 runs on only 4 hits. Luke Geoghegan came in relief of Jon Miraecki to pick up his 3rd win of the season and strike out a season high 9.

Drew Tambling smashed a Grand Slam HR - his league leading 6th HR of the season to ice a rainy day victory for the McKay Club. Jake Spiak also added a 2 run HR (his first) to make it a 7-3 score. Rain halted the nigth's activity at McConnell in the bottom of the 5th. jack owens chipped in for an RBI triple in the 3rd.

Brian Mylett tossed well and allowed 3 runs after 3 walks for the victory.

The Braves end their 3 game skid as their bats wake up and collect 14 hits to beat the McKay Club Beacons. Eric Lochiatto was staked to an early lead and pitched well allowing 3 ER on 4 hits and 4 Ks in 5 innings of work. Schlesinger came in relief in the 6th with a 1-2-3 inning. Caminiti had the luckiest 3 hits in a game one might ever see while Cashman collected 3 more solid hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Antoine, Kerbin and Roberto each had 2 hits a piece.

Owens (3B, R, RBI), Perez (2 RBI), Tambling and Spiak (R) had the hits for the Beacons including an absolute bomb to left by Jack Owens in the 3rd that went for a 3 bagger.

Next up for the Braves is a big match-up on Wednesday night against the Yaz Division leading Knights.

Rob MacDonald comes in from relief and pitches 4 strong scoreless innings to help the Sabers defeat the Beacons 8-7

Dubela got the start for Stoneham, letting up 5 earned runs throwing three gutsy innings while striking out 4 batters

MacDonald came in and pitched 4 solid innings of hitless baseball, letting up no runs, while striking out 7 Beacons, to earn his 3rd win of the season

In the 1st Robinson would score on a ground ball by Flanagan. In the 2nd Zelnick, Schauwecker, Parlow, Robinson, and Flanagan would all score. Robinson would drive in a run on HBP. Adams and Colucci both had a pair of RBI singles. In the 4th Zelnick would get HPB to push another run across.

Robinson's RBI triple in the fifth to score Parlow would go on to be the game winning hit for Stoneham

Parlow's great catch turned into the game ending double play

Beacon's battled back inning for innings until the 4th. Power hit a HR in the 2nd

The Knights and the Beacons faced off for the last time this season with the rubber match on this scorcher on a Sunday afternoon of which the Knights would play two. The Knights sent veteran Steve Hueston to the mound to face off against Jonathan Pelletier.

The Knights got off to a strong start plating 4 runs in the top of the first capped off by a 3 run HR by Wilson Mercado. The Knights added 2 more in the top of the 2nd to take what they thought would be a commanding 6-0 lead.

The Beacons would have something to say about that as they got to Hueston in the 3rd for 6 runs to take a 7-6 lead.

Down 8-6 in the 7th the Knights bats woke up posted 5 runs in the frame. Everyone got in on this inning as the bats got contagious and took back the lead 11-8. Knights rookie Pat Moreau pitched well in relief and got the win retiring 6 of the 7 batters he faced.

The Knights take the season series between the teams 2 to 1.

Too much action tonight to give a short description. You were either there or you miss a fun summer night of baseball.

Best play of the night (arguably, there were a lot of them)... After knocking home the go ahead run in the 6th, Freddi Carrera came flying around the bases on a hit by Nate Hodor, looking like a bullet train diving head first through Beacon catcher Kyle McKay's legs to score a much need insurance run. And needed is was, as in the bottom of the inning Drew Tambling hit a monster home run into the top of the right field trees at McConnell Park to cut the score to 9-8.

Everybody was involved in the Hornet's offense as 9 of different players scored runs. Multiple hits were recorded by Pat McClay (3, triple, 3 rbi), KC Murphy (2, run scored), Henry Spitzer (2, bb, triple, run scored, 3 rbi) and Alex Criscuolo (3, bb, run scored, 2 stolen bases).

The Stoneham bats explode for 15 hits to defeat the McKay Club Beacons 13-9 in the first game of a double header at Recreation Park.

Greg Dubela pitched 6 innings, letting up 8 hits, on 5 earned runs, striking out 2 Beacons. His performance was good enough for his 4th win of the season.

Sam Cummings came in to close the door and struck out 2 Beacons.

Travis Adams led the Sabers offense with 3 hits and 4 RBIS. Adams hit a single, double, and roped his first career Yawkey League homerun.

Jake Zelnick was not to far behind him, smashing two doubles and added 4 RBIS of his own.

Ryan Flanagan, Angelo Colucci, and Joe Parlow all had a multi-hit game and added RBI'S of their own.

Jon Susko had 3 hits, and Nick Schauwecker had an RBI as well.
