The Broncos and Yankees engaged in another battle. This time, the Broncos were the victors with a win in their last at bat. Santos Gonzalez got the complete game win scattering 8 hits and striking out 13. In a no-decision, starter Paul Reggio pitched well through 5.1 innings allowing just 4 hits and 2 ER.

The Broncos drew 1st blood in the 2nd inning. After an Elvis Paulino single and a Yankees error, Rafael Inchaustegui blasted a 3-run homerun to take a 3-0 lead.

The Yanks then battled back with 4 runs in the 4th highlighted by run scoring doubles by Todd Steffanides and Greg Crossman.

The Broncos tied it in the 6th when Sandy Gonzalez lead off with a hit and scored on a Yankees error.

Bryan Gauvin outdueled Chino Roman as the Yanks win a nail biter in their last at bat with a 2-out, 2 strike based loaded hit by Todd Steffanides. Gauvin struck out a playoff record 19 batters while allowing just 3 hits and 1 unearned run in 7 innings. Roman came up with some huge strikeouts (14 total) while allowing just 1 ER.

The Yanks drew 1st blood when AJ Bucciarelli knocked in Nick Stenzel with a triple in the 3rd inning. Bucciarelli had a huge night going 3-3 with an RBI, a double and a triple. The Broncos then tied it in the 6th thanks to a Pedro Flores single, a stolen base and a few Yankee’s miscues.

Tied 1-1 going into the bottom of the 7th, Mike Moloney started the ralley with a double to left. After a walk to Paul Szumita and a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Stenzel, the Broncos intentionally walked Bucciarelli to load the bases. Steffanides then delivered the winning run with a topspin single up the middle.

In what turned out to be a great pitchers' duel the Broncos bested the Royals 2-1 to capture Game 1. Both teams were held scoreless through 4 innings, when a hit batter led to a 2-run Broncos rally in the 5th. Rafael Inchaustegui (2 for 2, HP, R) scored on a Elvis Paulino double (1 for 3, RBI, R, 2B) for the games first run. Then, Paulino scored later in the inning on a Frances Peguero single (1 for 3, RBI, SB).

The Royals got 1 run back in the 6th after Corey Son (1 for 2, R) moved from 1st to 3rd on a throwing error after a bunt single. He was plated by a Travis Taliaferro Sac Fly (1 for 2, Sac, RBI). The game ended in the 7th as the Royals could not plate Mike Malin (1 for 3) who was stranded on third with 1 out in the 7th.

The real story of the game was the pitching of Ezequirel Roman of the Broncos (7IP, 1R, 11K, 0BB) and Ariel Martinez of the Royals (6IP, 2ER, 5K, 1BB). Both hurlers tossed complete games and left runn

Chris Filiberto pitched his first complete game in his MABL career, holding the Broncos to 8 hits in a 7-4 win tonight at Fallon Field. Filiberto only allowed 1 earned run, while walking none and striking out 9. Offensively, the Braves had a 6 run outburst in the third, led by RBI's by Filiberto, Allen, Danielson, and Parker. 8 out of the 10 Braves starters collected 1 hit a piece. Ariel Peguero led the Broncos offense with 2 hits.

Dan Shanahan pitched the Giants to victory. His 11 strikeouts gave him the league lead. A six-run 2nd gave the Giants all the runs they needed. Steve Corda's 2 hits gave him the team lead in batting, finishing the season at .462. Steve Coyle's 2 hits put him on the leaderboard for on-base percentage at.533

Shanahan took over the league lead in K's. Corda (.462) and Coyle (.533) made the top 10 in batting and on-base %ge respectivly

Doug Rexrode threw a complete game gem, allowing only 2 earned runs and 6 hits to get the win. The Cubs defense stepped up as well: Bill Dube made a diving catch behind the plate on a fouled off bunt and Jeff Seng had a putout at second base from left field on a single. Steve Guarerra threw another gem and the Cubs played spectacular defense (turning 4 double plays in the game) to pick up the win. Chris Seng had another big day, going 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI's. Sloppy defense by the Broncos also helped lead to the 9 Cubs' runs and the game was called after 6 innings.

An exciting game between the Royals and the Broncos ended in a tie after 7 innings due to time constraints. With the Royals leading 4-2 in the 6th, the Broncos unloaded 4 hits and scored 6 runs to take a four run lead. The rally was keyed by a 2-run HR by Pedro Flores (2 for 3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R).

In the top of the 7th, the Royals joined in on the rally fun with 5 runs of their own off of five hits. The tying and go ahead runs were driven in by a Nick Newman (3 for 4, 3 RBI, R) 2-out single.

However, the Royals couldn't hold onto the 9-8 lead as Pedro Flores reached on an error, stole second, and then scored the tying run on two errors with 2 outs.

Tom Spoth (7 IP, 7 H, 9 R, 7 ER, 9 K) went the distance to earn the tie for the Royals. Ryan Amerang got the tie for the Broncos in relief of Francis Gonzalez (6.1 IP, 9 H, 9 R, 7 ER, 12 K).

The Broncos made every Royal error hurt as they got out to a quick 4-0 lead on 4 unearned runs. Frances Peguero went 3 for 3 with 4 runs scored and 2 stolen bases to lead the Broncos offense. Sandy Gonzalez scored the Broncos' other 2 runs and went 2 for 3 with a double.

Ezequirel Roman picked up the win after going 5 strong innings (5IP, 3R, 2ER, 2K).

For the Royals, Travis Taliaferro had another multi-hit game (2 for 4) and Drew Kowalevicz (1 for 2) had a RBI Double to start a rally in the 3rd.
