Lexington won its fourth straight Intercity League championship with a 7-1 win over Watertown and a series sweep.
Marc Hewett pitched a complete game two-hitter and struck out 11. He took a no-hitter into the sixth before Sam Sager had a leadoff single in the sixth.
Eric Poling's two-run single gave Lexington a 5-1 lead in the sixth and came in the middle of a six run rally.
Nate Izzo's ground rule double drove in Chris Burke, who reached on a wild pitch on strike three, for Watertown's only run.

The Blue Sox set playoff highs in runs (13), hits (14), tied RBI (11), total bases (15) and walks (9).
Karis, 2-0 in the playoffs, pitched 6 innings. He struck out five, walked two and gave up five hits.
Steve Gath (3 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBI) lead the offense. Pete Frates and Ross Curley each scored three runs.

Lexington win game one of the finals, 2-0 behind a complete three hitter by Drew Brzozowski.
Brzozowski retired 13 straight from 1st through fifth innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
Consecutive two-out singles by Pete Frates, Ross Curley and Steve Gath, RBI, produced the first Lexington run.
Tommy Haugh drove in Matt McEvoy (single) with an infield out in the fourth.
Brian Casey (6 IP, 8 hits, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts) took the loss for Watertown, the first in the postseason for the Reds.

Lexington advances to finals on Monday night, August 16, against Watertown.
Eric Poling and Tommy Haugh had RBI singles in the seventh and Dan Capra drove in the game winner with a sacrifice fly to give Lexington a 3-2 win and series sweep.
Wakefield scored twice in the bottom of the seventh on sacrifice flies by Lorenzo Papa and John Davison before Matt O'Brien shut the door and save the game for the Blue Sox.
Wakefield's Darren Bisso had a no-hitter through 6.1 before Pete Frates broke it up with a bunt single. The next four batters reached on three singles and an intentional walk. Only Ben Hewett had reached base, getting hit twice, until that point.

Ross Curley had a walk-off two-run single to give Lexington a 2-1 win and a 2-0 lead in the semifinal series.
Dan Capra had a bunt single to start off the seventh for Lexington. Eric Poling bunted and reached safely when his hit got by everyone. Pete Frates moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt. On the the first pitch he saw Curley hit one that bounced off the third base bag and into left to score Capra and pinch runner Jim Hughes with the game winner.
Matt Russo doubled to drive in John Davison in the second to give Wakefield a 1-0 lead.
Marc Hewett got the win, going the distance. He walked two and struck out four.
Jarrod Marchesi took the loss striking out eight.

The Reds Dave Martin threw a 6 hitter, walking one and striking out four.

A big 2nd inning hit from Aqib Shah brought home two runs for the Reds as he went 2 for 2 on the night.

Steve Busby had 2 hits, a double and an rbi.

For Reading Mike Russo scored a big run on a home plate collision that knocked the ball loose from the Reds catcher, that helped cut a 4-0 lead in half. Pete Castoldi was 2-2 with a double.

Watertown was led by Brian Casey who totaled 13K's on the night and was helped offensively by Steve Busby who drove in Sam Sager with the Reds 2nd run of the night in the 3rd, along with Luke Begley who drove in Jay Olson with the Reds 3rd run of the game in the 4th. Casey set down the side in order on K's in the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 7th innings.

Glen Misho outdueled Darren Bisso as the Bombers won the opening game of the three-game series 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. Misho scattered 8 hits through 7 innings of work fanning 5 Merchants hitters in the complete game effort.

Testa Corp. scored the game's lone run as Chris Smart sprinted home on a passed ball with two outs in the top of the 5th. Smart got the inning started leading off with the first of his two singles on the day.

Bisso was equally as good only allowing 4 hits on the afternoon while striking out a pair, but was the tough luck loser.

David Orlowitz had two singles for Wakefield on the day, who left seven runners on base in the game.

Game two will be Monday night at 8pm at East Boston Stadium.
