The Boston Wolfpack won their first Las Vegas Open Championship behind the pitching of Rick Myers and Junior Rentas.

The Pack broke open a tied game in the 8th on a single by Junior Rentas followed by a long 2B by Richie Figueroa and single by Carmello Bastain. Team Victory pulled within 1 in their half of the 8th but Boston then scored two more in the ninth on a bases loaded single by Mark Moise. In the bottom of the 9th, with the tying run on first, Bobby Iandoli fielded a slow grounder between second and first and threw to first for the final out of the game.

Rentas was 2-2, 2BB, Iandoli got on base 3 times and Miguel Franquiz went 3-5 as five 'Packers had two hits a piece. Boston won the Open after six straight attempts, the last 3 making it to the finals.

Richie Figueroa throws an absolute gem, holding powerhouse Team USA hitless through four as the Wolfpack moved into the Finals for the third straight year.

The game's only run came in the first after back-to-back walks followed by a single by Paul Rousseau.

The Wolfpack stormed back from a 6-2 deficit, scoring 9 straight runs, and earning the victory over Team USA. Bill Speakman overcame a jittery start to pitch a solid 8+ innings to earn the victory.

Paul Rousseau stroked 4 hits, Bobby "Vegas" Iandoli had 3 hits, and Richie Figueroa had 3 RBIs as the Pack knocked out 19 hits and ended up the second seed and a re-match with Team USA in the Semi-Finals.

The Pack and Team Victory posted matching zeros for nine innings behind quality pitching and solid defense until Boston broke the ice in the 10th on a Mark Moise single (after Duane Lee was thrown out trying to stretch a lead off double) followed by a crushing double off the fence by Junior Rentas.

However, Team Victory battled back and plated two runs in the home half of the 10th to earn the walk-off victory.

The Wolfpack begin the 2008 Las Vegas Open with a win over the Baton Rouge Giants. Rich Erwin went all seven as the game was ended early due to the 10-run rule. Carmello Bastain paced the Pack offense with a 2B and 3B knocking in 5 RBIs. Jim Fier had a 3B and 2 RBIs and Mark Moise was 2-2 with a walk.
