Lexington wins 2008 Intercity League Championship with a 5-0 victory over Cassell. The Blue Sox win the finals 3-1.
Bill Cooke pitched a 2-hitter, walked none and struck out 11. He set down 13 straight Cassell batters from the second through sixth innings, including five consecutive strikeouts.
Blue Sox scored all the runs they would need in the second. Jared McGuire reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on Anthony Santos' RBI-double. Santos scored on a wild pitch. Santos drove in the fifth run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Dan Hughes had an RBI double in the fourth. Eric Poling had a pinch-hit RBI single in the seventh.
Jim Roche had both hits for Cassell, a single in the second and two-out triple in the seventh.

Lexington takes a 2-1 lead in the ICL finals with a 4-0 win over Cassell.
Marc Hewett won his second game of the playoffs and tossed a complete game 3-hit shutout. He retired 12 of the last 14 batters he faced, including striking out the last two Cassell batters.
Dan Hughes broke open a 2-0 game with a 2-run single in the fifth. Ben Hewett singled to drive in Anthony Santos with the Blue Sox first run.
Bobby McCarthy had two of Cassell's three hits, including a leadoff triple in the first inning. Outstanding defensive plays by Matt Gedman and Ben Hewett helped keep McCarthy on third.
Game four is Saturday at Trum Field at 4:00 p.m.

Lexington evened the ICL Finals at a game a piece with a 5-4 win at Trum Field.
Anthony Santos broke open a 1-1 game with a 2-run single in the sixth to give Lexington a 3-1 lead.
Matt Gedman drove in two insurance runs in the seventh with a 2-run single to give Lexington an important 5-1 lead.
Cassell took advantage of two Blue Sox errors in the seventh to score three run to make it 5-4. Pat Donovan came in and closed the door, striking out two to save the win for Lexington.
Game Three is Friday night in Lexington at 7:45.

Bobby McCarthy's two-out, two-run double, in the top of the 8th inning, drove in the winning runs as Cassell won game one of the Intercity League finals, 4-2, in extra innings at Lexington High School.
McCarthy (3 hits) singled and scored Cassell's first run in the third. Josh Mackey walked and scored the second run on wild pitch.
Dan Graham homered in the first for Lexington. Jack Laurendeau walked, went to third on Sean McElroy's single and scored on Jared McGuire's sacrifice fly to tie the game in the fourth.
Tim Dunphy pitched a complete game allowing four hits, walked two and struck out four.

Cassell moved on to the ICL Finals behind the incredible effort of Mike Parissi (Brandeis). Parissi got his 2nd win of the day, going five innings. Parissi ended the day throwing 12 innings, getting two wins, and not allowing a single walk. Since 2005, Parissi is 8-1 in the playoffs with five shutouts.

Leading the offense for Cassell was Josh Klimkiewicz (Harvard), Josh Mackey (Southern Maine), Tim Dempsey (UMass-Lowell), and Jimmy Roche (Bentley). Between the four of them there were ten hits and eight RBI. Mackey ended the day with four his and Klimkiewicz gave Cassell the lead for good in the 3rd with a two run home run.

Testa ended the game with ten hits, led by Pete John, Nick Martinho, and Jonathan Pollard.

Cassell moves on to face Lexington Tuesday night in Lexington. Congratulations to Testa for a good series and season.

Cassell evened the series behind a brilliant performance from veteran Mike Parissi (Brandeis). Parissi went all seven, scattering four hits, while striking out six.

Cassell scored its first run in the 2nd when Bobby McCarthy (Merrimack) scored on an error. A second run was added in the 3rd when Tim Dempsey (Umass-Lowell) singled home Josh Mackey (Southern Maine)

For Testa James Palmer pitched an excellent game, going the distance while only allowing 4 hits.

Dan Hughes scored the winning run with two outs in the ninth as Lexington won the first game of the semifinal series.
Hughes walked, moved to second on a passed ball, went to third on an infield out and scored on Jack Laurendeau's single just past the first base bag.
Both starters went the distance. Marc Hewett earned the win allowing 5 hits, an unearned run, walked two and struck 7.
Dylan Ellis took the loss, in a game neither starter deserved to lose, gave up 6 hits, walked one, struck out four and 2 runs.

Blue Sox scored six times in the first, the final three coming on Anthony Santos' basese-clearing double. He finished the night with 4 RBI hitting ninth.

Testa Corp. ended their regular season with a 6-1 win at Victory Field.The Bombers plated all six runs in the first inning with six base hits. Jay Defillippo continued his comeback from a broken hand with an impressive 3 hit night and Nick Martinho had a two run double to lead the offense. The Addessa brothers along with JP Jonathan Pollard combined to hold the Reds to just two hits. Now the Bombers prepare for Game One of the semi-finals vs. the Cassel Club at Trum Field on Friday night.

The Testa Corp. Bombers clinched a playoff berth with a 6-3 win in the second game of a DH at "The Stadium" Pete John led offense with a two run homer and Jay Defillippo celebrated his return to the lineup from a broken hand with a tow run single. Gately's "Dragon Nakumura" made his debut on the mound and got out of a big jam getting Aaron "Fink" Finklestein to ground out back to him as he raced to the bag to end the inning.

The Medford Americans came to play the spoiler role at the East Boston Stadium and came away with a 0-0 tie. The "big O" Orazio held the Bombers scoreless keeping them off balance with excellent off speed stuff all night. The Bombers Dan Delia and Mike Hashem also combined for seven scoreless innings. he closest chance for a run came in the sixth when pinch runner Jay Defillippo was gunned down by Medford at the plate. Great effort by the Americans not making anything easy for the second year Bombers.
