Jason "MVP" Pithie's 2-run homer in the top of the 8th broke open a 4-4 tie and sends the Tides to the semi's. Dave Iava and Larry Taglieri (1-0) combine for the win on the hill. Miguel Miranda (3-4), Russ Goodman (2-4, with a double), John Gainey (2-4, double, 1RBI) and Dan O'Brien (BIG GRAND SLAM IN THE 2nd) led the Tides offense. For the Sen's, Cappozi pitched well in defeat. Rousseau (2-4), Nicolo (2-4) and Masel (LONG triple) led the O. Russ Ward hit the ball hard right at people all night.

John Gainey added 2 hits for the Tide and Russ Goodman had a double. For Somerville, Steve Donovan was the tough luck loser, pitching a complete game gem himself with 7 K's.
