Phil Carignan puts the Grays on his back and carries them to the 2nd round. Carignan did it with the bat and his arm as he spun a CG shutout allowing only 4 hits with 5 strikeouts.

Carignan helped at the dish as well driving in 2 of the Gray's 3 runs. Zac Stiffler roped an RBI double in the 6th to put the game officially out of reach. That said, the offense was led by Danny Concessi. Concessi, fresh off a 2 week African safari, didn't miss a beat as he went 3-3 with a double and scored all 3 Grays runs.

The Grays will face the defending champion Sox in the 2nd round. Game One is Wednesday in Lynn.

The Grays even the series up behind Brian Maloney's CG shutout. Maloney struck out 6 and allowed 6 hits through 7 to pick up his first career MABL Postseason victory.

The Gray's offense scored 3 in the 3rd as they finally got some timely hitting with RISP. After a 2-out triple by Tom Plumitallo and a walk to Zac Stiffler, Phil Carignan doubled to drive one in. An error on the following play plated two more which would end up being all the Grays needed to take the game.

The series finale will be played in Quincy on Saturday morning.

Well played playoff game at Trum tonight. Brian Rosinski throws a gem and goes the distance. Key game situation; Gray's get 2nd and 3rd no outs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Rosinski then strikes out the side and gets out of it without allowing a run. Game 2 tonrw night at Maplewood.

The Spinners out-slugged the Cutters 11-7 in Waltham Sunday night. Ryan Feeney homered to left field and drove in three runs, while Colin Sullivan drove in two runs.

Chris Muse-Fisher earned the win, going four innings with two strikeouts. Luc Kocher, Nick Sieber and Pat Clapp kept Cambridge in the lead throughout the game.

James Wilson led the Cutters with three runs scored.

Grays win a Saturday morning pitchers duel in Quincy. Brian Maloney and Dan Wilson battled all game with the first hit not coming until the 4th inning. Maloney completed the CG shutout giving up 4 hits and striking out 8.

The Grays we're held hitless by Wilson until the 5th when Phil Carignan singled and stole second. He was moved to 3rd by an Anthony Montone single and driven in by a Rob Prenovitz Sac Fly. The Grays would add 2 more in the 6th but that was more than Maloney needed to even the series up at 1 game apiece.

The Cutters and Grays will face off one more time at the end of August.

Athletics top Cutters.

The Cutters plated the first run of the game in the 2nd. Bourassa doubled home Manley, who had reached on a single.

The A's McIntyre tied it up in the 3rd with a solo home run.

The A's plated 2 more in the 4th. Muollo tripled, and Donaruma drove him in with a single. B. O'Keefe drew a walk and scored on a fielder's choice hit by his brother M. O'Keefe.

B. O'Keefe secured the complete game win, striking out 7 and giving up only 5 hits.

The Spinners advanced to 12-2 with a 3-0 shutout win over the Waltham Cutters. Luc Kocher pitched five shutout innings, giving up just three hits. Andrew Wood came on in relief for the save.

Mike Knell and Jordan DeDonato singled and scored in the second inning. Alex Benson singled and scored on a fielder's choice.

Four Cutters had 4 hits in the losing effort.

On a record hot day in Carlisle in July, The Singing Surgeons and the Cutters battled back and forth all day; The Singing Surgeons heated up late for the win by scoring 6 runs over the 5th & 6th innings. Avery Ford had a 2B, 2 RBI and recorded the win in relief. Patrick Forelli had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, 2 SBs and scored a run while catching in 100 degree heat all day. Ken Manero pitched well over 5 frames and also contributed a clutch hit for an RBI and scored the tying run in the 6th. Matt Coloian doubled to start a 4 run rally for the Singing Surgeons in the 6th that led to the victory.
