The Towne veterans overcame nagging injuries and old age-related fatigue to topple Cannon on Thursday night. After a Venditti 3 run home run in the 3rd, Cannon felt compelled to issue him an intentional walk in his next at-bat, loading the bases. Grant Bowen, feeling disrespected, responded by launching a moonshot grand slam over the left field fence. Jim Perron, fresh off of a workout at Planet Fitness, came through with 3 hits and an RBI for Towne.

Mike Stefaniak dealt through 6 strong innings, allowing 4 runs while striking out 9.

Joe Dwyer delivered the big hit for Cannon, a 2 run double in the 4th. Panozzi and desai also had big hits for Cannon which happened to leave the park too.

Cannon Club 4, Palmer Club 3

 Summary | Box Score
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E

Palmer Club 1 0 0 0 0 0 2 3 9 1

In a tight game all night, Neshe and Henry battled on the mound in a game that saw 24 strikeouts. Palmer got on the board in the first with a walk by Trafecanty and a double by Ferrara.

All quiet for the next 5 innings as both teams threatened but couldn't score until Cannon gets a few guys on and takes advantage of an odd bloop play between third and short and a wild pitch to go ahead by 1.

Cannon adds much needed insurance in the 7th when Grimshaw gets on by an error and the next two batters walk. Panozzi comes up with a big single to score 2. But Palmer never seems to go away and they start the bottom with hits by Fordiani and Lennon. Ferrara then singles them in and steals second with 1 out. However Penton K's the last 2 to leave the tying run stranded.

If anyone finds $100 at Fallon, it's JP's so make sure you keep it.

Another solid pitching performance from Burgos with 11 k's in the complete game effort.

After doing some major work to the plate and dealing with an umpire quitting, the game finally got under way after a 45 minute delay. Cannon got on the board in the 4th after a Rad Baez sac bunt moves runners over and Iuliano has a big 2 out hit to drive in Dwyer.

TJO had runners on third in the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th innings but Burgos and the defense help them there as they were unable to score.

Desai adds some insurance in the 6th with a solo blast.

In the bottom of the 6 he got into a little trouble with two outs and bases loaded JP songin came into relieve getting the batter to pop out and end the inning. Then in the bottom of the 7th it was all songin with his pitching this time giving up one hit then striking out the last three guys to end the game.
