A's TAKE MABL CROWN!

Brett O'Keefe got the complete game win for the A's. He gave up just 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4.

The A's got 2 runs in the 2nd. Barton drove in Tessari on a single to right, and Krall doubled Barton home.

The A's got 3 more in the 3rd. M. Asdornvuttikrai singled and eventually scored on a passed ball. Muollo scored on a singe by McIntyre, who later scored on a passed ball.

The Spinners struck for 2 in the 5th. Valdiviezo led off with a single, and scored on a D. Caceras single. Salvia then hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Feeney. 5-2 A's.

In the 6th, Barton worked a 2-out walk, stole 2nd, stole 3rd, and scored on a passed ball. 6-2 A's.

O'Keefe set the Spinners down 1-2-3 in the 7th, ending the season on a groundout to 2nd.

The Spinners kept their post season alive with a 5-2 win over the Athletics in game three of the finals. Chris Muse-Fisher pitched a complete game, giving up just two runs on one hit while striking out nine.

Mike Knell led the offense with three hits, including two doubles and two RBIs. Dan Caceres also doubled and drove in two runs.

Down 2-0 in the third, Ricky Salvia walked and scored from first on the Knell double to cut the lead 2-1. Greg Megerdichian singled and Mark Killoren reached base in the fourth and both runs were driven in by Caceres and Cambridge took the lead for good.

Mike Navarro singled and scored in the fifth and Isaac Valdiviezo doubled and scored in the sixth.

Rob Muollo scored for Waltham in the top of the first and Tom McIntyre scored on an error to give the A's a 2-0 lead early.

A's TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD

The A's Kyle Breidenstine outdueled the Spinners' Luc Kocher.

In the 1st, Navarro hit a 2-out single, stole second, and was driven home by a Sullivan liner. M. Tufo singled through the left side, but Knell was cut down at the plate by Tessari. 1-0 Spinners.

Tessari led off the 3rd with a single and was sacrificed to 2nd. He advanced on a ball in the dirt and was able to scramble home on an errant throw. 1-1 after 3.

In the 5th, W. Asdornvuttikrai singled, stole 2nd, and was driven in by a Krall liner. 2-1 A's.

In the 6th, the A's got 2 runs on a 2-out rally. M. Asdornvuttikrai singled. Muollo doubled Buddha home. And McIntyre singled Muollo home. 4-1 A's.

The insurance proved important. Tufo, Valdiviezo, and Megerdichian, and Maccioli all singled. But Breidenstine limited them to just 1 run to put the series at 2-0 in favor of the A's.

Game 3 is Wednesday night.

A's TAKE GAME 1 PITCHER'S DUEL

Brett O'Keefe and Pat Donohoe dueled in Game 1 of the Championship Series, but it was O'Keefe and the A's that came out ahead.

In the 2nd, Rob Muollo worked a walk. Nick Barton then ripped a double into the gap to plate Muollo and put the A's up 1-0.

The Spinners' Isaac Valdiviezo singled in the 4th and reached 3rd base, but back-to-back strikeouts from O'Keefe kept the Spinners scoreless.

In the 6th, Brian Balise single and stole 2nd. Bo McIntyre then drove a ball to left to plate Balise and extend the lead to 2.

In the bottom of the 7th, Ricky Salvia singled, stole 2nd, and ultimately reached 3rd. But once again, O'Keefe slammed the door to cap off the complete game shutout.

O'Keefe struck out 7 Spinners and yielded just 3 hits. Barton finished 2-3 with a double and an RBI.

Game 2 is Sunday at 3:00 at Nipper in Waltham.

A's ADVANCE TO FINALS

The A's advanced to the finals behind a Kyle Breidenstine 1-hitter. He struck out 7 in the complete game win.

The A's scored in the 1st, leading off with back-to-back-to-back singles from Donaruma, M. Asdornvuttikrai, and McIntyre. The Giants' Walsh induced Barton into a double play, but one run was put on the board for the A's.

In the 3rd, Mahoney was hit by a pitch. He stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on an Asdornvuttikrai single. McIntyre then hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Mahoney and the second run for the A's.

That was all Breidenstine needed, as he faced just one over the minimum. Asdornvuttikrai finished 3-3 with a double.

The A's await the winner of the Spinners-White Sox series.

A's TOP GIANTS IN PITCHER'S DUEL

Huber and Plumitallo dueled all morning, but Huber and the A's came out on top.

The A's scored in the 1st. Krall laced a single to the right side to bring home M. Asdornvuttikrai, but Smith gunned down McIntyre at the plate to limit the damage to just 1 run.

The A's stretched the lead to 2-0 in the 4th. Tessari led off with a single. On Vadala's single Tessari legged it from 1st to 3rd, and errant throw went out of play, allowing Tessari to score the 2nd A's run.

The Giants loaded the bases with no outs in the 5th. Clarke walked to cut the lead to 1. But Huber induced 2 infield popouts to get out of the jam.

For the A's, Huber got the complete game win, giving up just 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 5. Tessari finished 2-3 with a steal.

On the Giants side, Plumitallo gave up just 1 earned run while tossing all 6 innings for the Giants. Clarke went 1-3 with an RBI walk.

A's TAKE GAME 1 SLUGFEST

The A's scored in the 1st on a Barton base knock. They got 4 in the 3rd on back-to-back doubles from Balise and M. O'Keefe.

The Giants got 3 in the 3rd, with French, Nowlin, and Savas connecting with big hits.

The A's scored again in the 5th on another Balise double. But the Giants got 2 in their half with Savas driving a 2-RBI single.

In the 6th, M. Asdornvuttikrai and McIntyre hit back-to-back doubles for a run. McIntyre later scored on Barton sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the 7th, French and Montone had RBI hits. The Giants then loaded the bases with one out. Stiffler hit a would-be sacrifice fly, but the A's Barton cut down Clarke at the plate to conclude a wild Game 1.

B. O'Keefe got the win; Huber took the save. The A's hit 7 doubles; Balise had 3 and M. O'Keefe had 2. For the Giants, Montone, Savas, and Nowlin had multi-hit games, and French finsihed 2-3 with 2 doubles.

A's ADVANCE TO SEMIS

The A's advanced past the Cutters, behind a complete game effort from Kyle Breidenstine, who yielded just 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 5.

The A's struck for two runs in the second inning. Brett O'Keefe led off with a single and advanced to second on an error. With two outs, Matt Asdornvuttikrai ripped a double off the wall to drive in the first run.

Warren Asdornvuttikrai then got into a rundown after an infield popup, which allowed his brother Matt to scramble home for the second run of the game.

The Cutters threatened in the 5th. Jeff Coveney, Dana Levensaler, and Steve Wigmore led off with three singles. Ryan Bere then hit a sacrifice fly to cut the lead in half. But Breidenstine escaped by striking out the next batter and inducing a groundout for the third out.

In the 6th and the 7th, Breidenstine sat down the Cutters with back-to-back 1-2-3 innings to send the A's to the semis.

A's TAKE GAME 1

The Cutters jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after a leadoff single from Ryan Bere, who later scored on Jay Thomas base knock.

The A's took the lead in 3rd and never relinquished it. Brian Balise led off with a single. Paul Mahoney sacrified Balise to second. Alan Donaruma hit a single. And Rob Muollo walked. Bo McIntyre then hit a grand slam to bring in all 4 A's runs.

That was all Brett O'Keefe needed. He allowed just 5 hits and struck out 6 on the way to the complete game win.

McIntyre went 2-3 with a homerun and a double. Donaruma finished 2-2. Bere led the Cutters' offense with a 2-3 night, including a double.

Game 2 is Friday night at Nipper in Waltham.

A's WALK OFF IN FINALE

Nick Barton hit a walk-off single in the 8th inning to send the A's into the playoffs on a high note. Barton finished 2 for 3.

Brett O'Keefe contributed a 2-RBI single and threw four innings of 1-run ball for the A's. Kyle Breidenstine got the win in relief, surrendering just 1 hit over the final 3 innings.

The A's will host the Cutters in the first round of the playoffs. The White Sox will square off against the Dodgers.

Chris Muse-Fisher threw another gem for the Spinners as they shutout the Athletics 4-0 in Waltham. He went 6 innings, giving just 3 hits while striking out 10. Mike Tufo had 3 hits and drove in a run and Mike Knell added 3 hits and 2 stolen bases.

Cambridge broke open a scoreless tie in the top of the 4th when Mark Killoren doubled and later scored on a throwing error while stealing third base. MTufo and Greg Megerdichian both doubled and drove in runs. Peter Allain scored a run in the fifth after he was hit by a pitch and later scored on a Mike Navarro single.

Nick Barton led the Waltham offense with two hits and pitcher Kyle Breidenstine pitched five innings for the A's. Brendan Huber pitched 2 innings in relief, striking out 3.

In an offensive battle, the A's came out on top with 8 runs on 14 hits. Brett O'Keefe went the distance and struck out 9 batters.

Four A's finished with multi-hit games. Alan Donaruma and Tom Vadala each went 3 for 4 with a double. Nick Barton finished 2 for 5. And Bo McIntyre was 2 for 4 with a double and a homerun.

For the Orioles, Manuel was 2 for 4 with a double, and Lechappelle 2 for 3 with two doubles.

The A's face the Spinners on Tuesday night. The O's next face the Cutters, also on Tuesday.

Muse-Fisher tosses a gem, as Spinners beat A's 7-0.

Killoren started the Spinners 2nd inning off with a single, and would later score on a throw to 2nd. From there, the spinners didn't look back. In the 4th with 2 outs, Feeney and Allain got on base and scored on a M.Tufo single and Sullivan walk. Spins tacked on 3 more in the 6th after a Gioia lead off single and steal, he scored on a JTufo single. Feeney and Killoren pushed across 2 more that inning. The 7th was capped off by a Clapp RBI single.

Muse-Fisher improved to 3-0, striking out 7 and only allowing 1 hit in 7IP.
