Warren Asdornvuttikrai then got into a rundown after an infield popup, which allowed his brother Matt to scramble home for the second run of the game.

The Cutters threatened in the 5th. Jeff Coveney, Dana Levensaler, and Steve Wigmore led off with three singles. Ryan Bere then hit a sacrifice fly to cut the lead in half. But Breidenstine escaped by striking out the next batter and inducing a groundout for the third out.

In the 6th and the 7th, Breidenstine sat down the Cutters with back-to-back 1-2-3 innings to send the A's to the semis.
