The Gray's knock the reigning League Champions out of playoff contention with hard fought 8-5 win in Waltham. Matt Ferro threw 6 innings giving up 5 runs although none were earned. The Gray's defense did not do Ferro many favors however, the A's seemed to capitalize on every Gray miscue with clutch hits.

The offense was led by Bret Samboy who continues his torrid offensive pace going 3-4 with 4 RBI, including mammoth 3-Run home run to spark a 6 run 3rd inning. Matt Ferro and Phil Carignan each added 2 hits and 2 RBI.

The Gray's close the season out Thursday against the Dodgers and will be the 3 seed in the playoffs.

Athletics keep themselves alive in the playoff hunt with 5-2 victory thanks to a CG by Kurtz. Drama ensues for the final playoff spot. If the Athletics win tomorrow night at Nipper vs. Grays, the secure a playoff spot, if they lose, the Snappers secure a spot.

The Athletics keep their narrow path to a playoff spot alive behind a complete game by Breidenstine. Will Wilde supplied the offense for the A’s with an RBI double and Bo McIntyre secured the other RBI for the A’s. The only way the Athletics can make the playoffs is by winning their next 2 games against the Red Sox and Grays on Sunday and Monday.

Grays win a 1-0 pitchers duel between Tom Plumitallo and Brett O'Keefe. Plumitallo threw a CG shutout giving up 5 hits, striking out 4. O'Keefe, saddled with the unlucky loss, threw all 7 giving up only 5 hits and 1 unearned run.

The Grays strung together 3 straight hits in the 5th allowing them to score one run on a misplayed ball which would be all Plumitallo and the Gray's defense would need.

The Gray's are back in action Monday under the lights in Weymouth against the Dodgers.

Rob Muollo had 2 hits and 2 runs, and Jordan Krall had 2 RBI in the victory. Brett O'Keefe threw a CG to improve to 5-1 on the year.

The Athletics take the season series 2-1 over the Dodgers and hold the playoff tiebreaker. The Athletics next play the Cutters, and the Dodgers play the Grays, both in games with important playoff implications.

The As and Cutters battle it out (as always) but the Cutters end up on top 4-3 walk off style.

The Cutters jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st thanks to Mike Galvin double and Brett Fundell sac fly. The As score single runs in the middle innings to take a 3-2 lead.

The Cutters loaded em up in the 7th. After Steve Walsh drew a bases loaded walk, Tim Varakis brought home the winning run w a sac fly.

Jason Kurtz took the CG loss and Dan Wilson won in relief.

The A's got a much needed victory over the Red Sox on a beautiful Friday night at Nipper.

The Athletics were led on the mound by Brett O'Keefe, who threw a CG, surrendering 2 ER and striking out 7 in the effort.

The A's would score in the 4th, taking advantage of a Red Sox error, and a SAC fly by Buddha. They'd get another in the 5th when Krall drove in MacNeil through a drawn in infield.

The Red Sox tied it up in the 6th when Bill Ferdinand walked, and the meat of the Red Sox order would drive runs in, with RBI singles by Letourneau and Lannan.

The Athletics would put one more across in the 6th, thanks to a hit by Muollo, an error on a stolen base attempt, and a hit by Warren Asdron.

Rookie Matt MacNeil led the Athletics offense going 2-3 with a double and a run. Ferrazani threw well in the loss, and Lannan made some nice plays in the field, while tallying a key RBI hit for the Red Sox.

The Boston Sox complete the season series sweep of the defending champ A’s with a 10-0 win at Fallon field. The Sox lineup was hot from the start, jumping out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and never looking back. Every player had at least one hit as the squad accumulated 16 total knocks on the day. Eric Rodriguez paced the way with a 3 for 4 outing while Jake Perkins plated two big runs to break open the game in the first.
Inheriting a 7-0 lead before throwing a pitch was far more than Seth Perkins would need on the hill. Perkins cruised to the win, going the distance for the Sox, allowing only 2 hits, no runs, no walks, and striking out 6.
The Sox end their 4 game in 7 day stretch 3-0-1 extending their league best record to 12-1-1. Sox will return to the diamond on Thursday night against the Singing Surgeons at 8pm in Lynn at Breed Middle School.

The A's rode the arm of Jason Kurtz to the 4-1 victory on Friday night over the Surgeons. Kurtz tallied 11 K's on the night, while surrendering only 1 run.

The A's put up 3 runs in the first, thanks to Nick Barton's 2 RBI double, and great baserunning on a wild pitch to score the third run. The A's pushed across another run in the 4th, when Bo McIntyre hit a single, and PR Paul Mahoney stole second base and scored on an error.

The Surgeons threatened in the 7th; however Kurtz induced a DP ground out, and got a strikeout to end the game.

Manero pitched well in the loss, and also tallied 2 hits for the Surgeons.

The Spinners top the A's in their second meeting of the season. The Spinners offense was led by Gaffney, Allain and Salvia, all of which were 3 for 3 on the night (Allain 2 doubles). Spins would get their first run in the 1st inning off a Gaffney 2 out single and would put up 7 more runs in the 3rd. That would be plenty for CMF - who threw a 2 hit shut out, striking out 8. Spinners finished the night with a total of 10 runs leading a shortened game.

Next up for the Spinners is the rubber match with the Sox on Friday night.

Brett O’Keefe dazzled and threw a complete game no hitter against the Grays on a stifling hot day at Moxley in Watertown. The only runners to reach base via an error and a walk.

The A’s scored 2 in the first thanks to timely hits by Muollo and Tessari, and that was all they would need as O’Keefe kept the Grays bats off balance all game. Jared Walsh was the tough luck loser, as he threw 4 straight 1-2-3 innings to end the ball game, surrendering only the runs in the first inning.

Both the A’s and Grays are now 5-6 on the season and are fighting for playoff spots. The Grays play the Red Sox Sunday, and the A’s are off until July 9 against the Spinners.
