In one of the best pitchers duels in recent memory in the MABL Neil Doherty of the Marlins topped Dan Shanahan of the Giants, 2-1 in 10 innings at Clifford on Sunday. The two pitchers were equally opposite in their approach, with Doherty the control pitcher (0 walks in 10 innings) matching Shanahan the power pitcher (13 strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings). The fielding was crisp on both sides, with the Marlins turning two double plays including one with the go ahead run on 3rd and one out in the 9th. The Fish finally ended it in the 10th. With one out, Andy Katz singled to right, stole second, and advanced to third on the play at second when the throw went through to center. After a two out walk to Davin Wilfrid, Andy Herr sent everyone home with a backspin lob in the infield that fell for the game winning hit.
