The Reds improved to 5-2 in an 8 inning win at Tivnan Field. Both Sean Magee (8ks) and Dan Shanahan (9ks) went the distance on the mound.

Reds took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Derek Garabedian double and a Matt Bloomer single. The Giants bounced back to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning following a Reds error, a walk, and back to back hits by Parra and Cavaleri. In the top half of the sixth the Reds tied the score when Garabedian walked, and Bloomer and Chris Chase hit back to back singles. In the top of the eighth Chase hit a one out double, Tony Ramos was intentionally walked and Magee picked up the game winning RBI with a single to right. In the bottom half of the eighth Joe Albano hit a rocket to left center but was robbed of extra bases by a diving Chris Chase. Steve Corda followed with a single to right center before the Reds turned the 6-4-3 double play to end the game.

Magee and Shanahan pitch gems, Chris Chase saves extra bases with diving grab.
