Justin Dietz and Sam Cummings shutout the Maddogs and the Sabers pick up their first win of the season on opening day. Dietz pitched 5 strong scoreless innings striking out 3 batters and only letting up 2 hits, while picking up his first career Yawkey League win. Cummings picked up the save, pitching 2 scoreless innings on 1 hit, continuing his success from last year after an injury that ended his season. Offensively, Angelo Colucci had a clutch game winning RBI single in the fourth to score Ryan Flanagan. Mike Robinson and Ryan Flanagan made tremendous throws to the plate to save two runs. Catcher Travis Adams did a great job on the other end of the plays. Maltzan reached base all three times for Medford.
