The Mets rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth and beat the Reds, 7-5. Steve Roberts picked up the win by posting his second straight strong outing in relief against the Reds. Roberts allowed two hits and an unearned run over 2.2 innings. Kit Kadlec relieved Roberts with two outs in the seventh and retired tying run Matt Baier (batting .700) on a grounder to end the game. Tim Fortune and Al Becker had two hits each for the Mets, and Greg Cote stroked an RBI triple. For the Reds, Joe Dunne was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Ryan Chase took a tough loss, allowing only one earned run over the complete game.
