| Tim Fortune pitched a one-hitter as the Mets topped the Braves, 8-1. Jon Danielson's solid single to right leading off the sixth inning was the lone Brave hit. Fortune allowed one unearned run, walked one, hit a batter and struck out 12. After six errorless innings, three Mets miscues in the 7th cost Fortune a chance at the shutout. Fortune helped himself with a two-run double in the 4th and walked twice. Chris Sansone had two hits for the Mets, including an RBI triple. For the Braves, former Cy Young winner Chris O'Sullivan made his return to the mound, tossing a scoreless inning and striking out two. |
