The Sox walked off with the opening night win on an RBI single by Seth Perkins (Right handed Jim Thome). Nick Panzini was the starting pitcher for the Sox and went 5 strong innings before handing the ball to the bullpen -- Ulloa, S. Perkins, and Giarusso, who limited the Cutters to only 4 hits over the remaining 6 frames.  Giarusso picked up the win by striking out the side in the 11th. The Sox offense was led by Omar Ortiz who went 3-4 including a huge 2 out single in the 8th that tied the game at 2.  Nick Powers was 2-4 with a double and a big single in the 11th that put runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs. Rommo went 1-3 with a big RBI and endless swag and speed in RF. Sox take the field again Sunday AM looking for win #2 against the Boston Jakes.
