A's TOP PADRES The Padres took the early lead when Frias scored on a fielder's choice. The A's Warren Asdornvuttikrai notched it up, smacking a triple and scoring on a passed ball. In the 2nd, the A's loaded the bases on a walk and two well-placed bunts. Tom Vadala singled up the middle to plate two. The Padres struck back in the 4th. Kenny Polanco led off with a double, and Caro singled him home. Jay Gonzalez walked. Caro scored on a double steal, and Paulino later crossed the dish to make it 4 for the Padres. The A's tied it up in their half. Krall led off with a double, and eventually came around to score on an Asdornvuttikrai single. It remained locked at 4 until the bottom of the 7th.
