Grant Bowen stroked a 2-out, 2-run single in the bottom of the 7th in his Park League debut as JM Force snatched the season opener away from Grossman, 2-1. JMF had runners on base all game with 8 walks and 2 HBP, but was held hitless by Scott Hampe over the first four innings despite stranding 8 runners. And sticking with his pre-game plan Grossman Manager Franz Strassmann brought in Mike Thater to begin the 5th, and he continued to silence Force's bats until Tim Mitropoulos singled with one out in the 7th. Then Matt Skinner was hit by a pitch, and Mitropoulos, in a key heads-up baserunning play tagged up on Kevin Godin's fly ball and moved to third with two out.
