2nd inning Natick has runners on 1st & 3rd. A one hopper in the hole at short for the double play and Natick would not score. Later, Doug Flutie doubles to lead off and on a base hit to right field, Dana Levensaler to Dan Pill to Bill Gross at the plate who tags Flutie out. Same inning w runners on the corners, Mike Barthel steps off and fakes to 3rd and the runner off 1st gets in a pickle. Waltham throws the runner from 3rd out at the plate. Ugly moment was when a Blaine fastball glances off Derek Luccini's helmet visor and hits him in the face. He suffered a broken nose. The same inning Blaine gets wild, to go along with the hit batter, he walked four and the Sox get 2 runs. Barthel throws 5 scoreless innings but Natick gets 2 in the sixth and seventh.
