A great battle in game 1 of this years finals. Red Sox get 2 in the top of the first and would then be baffled by Caccavelli, never seeming to get the 2 out hit when they needed it. However, for Waltham, Dan Pill was just as great allowing 2 runs on just 3 hits in a 10 inning complete game gem. Pill thought he was out of gas much earlier but still manage to get outs. Tied in the top of 10, Pete Fricker singled for the 5th time in this game (5-5, 2R) and Natick turns to Blaine in relief. Spadafino singles, and Levensaler makes a "loud out" to left. Mike "Big Game" Barthel, while battling a stomach virus that wouldn't allow him to pitch in the game, would come to the plate and do it again, as he did in the morning game against East Boston. A double to right center for 2 RBI and he came around to score on 2 wild pitches. Game 2 Tuesday night at Nipper in Waltham, 7pm start
