The new-look Thunder (finally got their real uniforms after a year and a half) jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first inning off Brockton starter Dave Joseph and never looked back. Paul Laurin got off to a shaky start (walked 3 in the first), but then threw a masterful game for the Thunder, scattering 5 hits, striking out 11 and yielding only 1 unearned run in the victory. He added 3 hits to the offensive attack including a double and triple. Jim Rullo (2 hits, 1 walk), Bill Smith (2 hits) also paced the attack. Brian Chen, Dave Patnaude and Mike Rullo also earned their way on twice to help the offense.
