Fans at Chelsea HS were treated to some outstanding pitching and defense from both sides on Friday night as the Marlins edged the Dodgers 3-1. Mark Daoust of the Marlins and Garrett Fisher of the Dodgers both turned in outstanding performances on the mound, with Daoust only allowing one unearned run thru 5-plus and Fisher going the distance for the Dodgers. After being flummoxed by Fisher through five, the Fish finally broke through in the sixth. After Jason Leone and Andy Katz reached to start the inning, Davin Wilfrid's deep drive to center fell for a 2 run double and a 2-1 lead. In the 7th, Andy Katz plated Tim Sheflin on a suicide squeeze to provide an insurance run. Kevin Brennan came on in relief of Daoust in the 5th and retired 6 of the 7 batters he faced for his league leading 3rd save.
