Held at bay by Dodger starter Paul McInnis for six innings, the Marlins entered the 7th at Chelsea HS last night trailing 7-2. The Dodgers had used a balanced attack highlighted by big blows from Adam Howes (RBI triple) and Dan Petro (2 run double) to build the lead.
The first four Marlins to bat in the seventh reached against McInnis. Paul Bracco came off the bench to single in a run against Greg Gosselin, a run scored on a passed ball with Matt King at the plate, then Chris Ryan ended an epic 12 pitch at bat with a two run single to right to tie the game.
After a single by Davin Wilfrid and a two out walk to Andy Herr, Mark Daoust worked a clutch bases loaded walk to give the Fish a one run lead. Then Kevin Brennan delivered his second hit of the inning and of his MABL career, a 2 run single to right to extend the margin to 10-7.
Brennan then shut down the Dodgers in the bottom of the 7th to earn his 2nd win.
