The Orioles edged the Dodgers in a battle of starting pitchers. Chris Demers (7IP, 7H, 2ER, 1BB, 7K) went the distance to improve to 5-1. Garrett Fisher (7IP, 5H, 2ER, 2BB, 4K) took the tough loss. The Orioles started it off with and RBI single by Demers (1-3, 2RBI) in the top of the first. The Dodgers tied it up in the bottom of the third with an RBI single by Adam Gabriel. The Orioles plated a run in the top of the 5th when Chris Arenda led off the inning with a single, stole second and eventually scored on a balk. The Orioles extended their lead in the top of the 6th when Demers drove in Dan Gomes with an RBI ground out. The Dodgers threatened in the bottom of the 6th when Sandy Gonzalez's triple was followed by a single by Kevin Beliveau (2-3, 1RBI). But Demers worked his way out of it to preserve the victory.
