The Marlins edged the Dodgers in 10 tense innings at Cleveland Circle on Saturday.
Both teams got a good effort from their starting pitchers, Andrew Mierisch for the Marlins and Greg Gosselin for the Dodgers. Through five innings, the Fish held a 2-1 lead on an RBI single by Davin Wilfrid in the first and an RBI double by Matt King in the fourth.
The Dodgers mounted a comeback in the bottom of the sixth with Adam Gabriel lining a clutch two-out, two-run single to right. Manager Ariel Frometa of the Marlins then went to the bullpen, and Hiro Nakamura got the last out of the inning.
John Sailhamer led off the top of the seventh with a long triple to left, his first MABL hit. He later scored with two outs on an infield error.
The Marlins finally broke through in the top of the 10th. With one out, Chris Ryan singled and scored on a two out single by Paul Bracco. Nakamura then worked a 1-2-3 tenth to seal the victory for the Marlins
