Mitch Monke drove in the eventual game-winning run with a sac fly in the 8th inning and pitched the last 5 innings (2-hit shutout ball)to pick up the win in a great battle as the A's win 2-1 in 8 against the McKay Club. Pat Bresnehan tossed the first three frames for Al Thomas, yielding an unearned run while walking one and whiffing six. John Kostas and Peder Von Harten had 2 hits apiece, while Steve Lambert drove in the first runs for the A's. Bryan Curran pitched a great 8 innings and Kyle McKay had 2 of the Beacons' 4 hits. Despite the errors on each side, there were many great defensive plays in the game.
