What started out as a slugfest turned into a pitcher's duel with Wayland prevailing with a run in the 10th on consecutive hits by Kevin Locke, Joe Calderella, and Bill Carlezon. Sean O'Connor picked up the win in relief of Kevin Locke. Tom Manning went all 10 for Malden but was stung by a couple costly errors behind him.
