In a well played game by both sides, the Cardinals edged the Braves 3-2. Mike Greaney once again turned in an outstanding effort going 6 innings, 0 runs, 0 BB giving up only two hits. He struck out 7 facing the minimum by getting the Braves to hit into two double plays. Jeff James knocked in 2 runs and Chris Caprio added 1 for the Card's. James also threw out the would be tying run in the top of the seventh. Newly signed free-agent, Jay Day overcame a Braves rally to earn the save. For the Braves, Chris Allen had a solid effort on the hill. |
