As a follow-up to Houlding's performance, Dave Martin did not allow a Royal hit until the 4th inning when Felix Villalobos led off the inning with a line-drive just out of the reach of Kyle Michaud. Martin tossed 5 innings, impoved to 2-0, and allowed just 2 hits, 2 walks and 1 earned run with 8 strikeouts. Offensively, the Sox were paced by Nate Pane who went a perfect 4 for 4. Jason Hoye also pitched in with a 2 for 3 effort with a sac fly and 3 more RBI. Will Bissonnette also went 2 for 3 with a triple and a pair of RBI. Al Wiesner finished the day with 6 stolen bases off 3 walks and a pair of hits. Matt LoPresti pitched the final 2 innings for the Sox and allowed just 1 hit and an unearned run. Andrew Marenghi took the loss for the Royals.
