Tyler Walsh tossed a complete game two-hit shutout to pace the Astros to a 6-0 victory over the Cubs in a morning duel at East Boston Stadium. The game was played very well defensively by both sides. Mike Vernon (2-for-4, R, RBI) knocked a first inning double which scored Walsh for the game-winner. "Trot" also turned a big unassisted double play from shortstop in the fourth. Cory Edgar showcased a solid glove in center and plated Josh "D-Lowe" Vernon (1-for-2, 2R, 2SB) in the fifth for the Astros second run. The Astros got another in the sixth on a base hit by Mike Vernon, a well-placed groundout by Dan Schumaker and an RBI single by Kevin Gorman. Walsh added a two-run double in the seventh to extend the lead to six after Josh Vernon had walked, stole second and third, and scored when the ball got passed the third baseman. Mark Andolina pitched well going the distance for the Cubs, but took the hard luck loss.

T-Dubb, Trot and D-Lowe either scored or drove in all six runs. Walsh records first Astros shutout in a really long time.
