Glenn Perham and Chris Demers battled it at McConell field. Both pitches threw the complete eight innings until the lights went out. The Reds struck first in the third with a Joe Dunne walk. Matt Bloomer hit a bunt single, and Chris Chase walked to load the bases. Bryan Straccia then hit a sac fly to bring Dunne home. The Orioles tied it in the sixth with a lead off hit from Eric Oxley and an infield hit from Chris Roupa, with an erant throw which got by the third baseman. The Reds took the lead back in the seventh with a bunt single from Derek Garabedian. He reached second on a wild pitch. Matt Bloomer than hit him home with an RBI single. The O's tied the game in the seventh with a two out walk drawn by Demers, reaching second on a wild pitch. Al Cacciatore drove him in with a single to right field. After a scoreless eighth, the lights went out in the top of the ninth with no runs scored, forcing the tie game.
